Ok lets see how many new ads from this morning I can find that are posted in the wrong area.
Dealers did you see your ad here ??
#45 Jan 22, 2014
It looks like others are taking the ball and running with calling out the dealers that are scamming people on CL
#46 Jan 22, 2014
And another new ad calling out dealers for listing in the wrong area
#47 Jan 22, 2014
Why post them here on topics?
Contact the dealers and complain to them,
or contact Craigslist to complain.
Why here tho???
#48 Jan 22, 2014
There is even a rant section on Craigslist, so why rant here??
#49 Jan 22, 2014
What is happening is that these guys who are scamming the car buying public is getting together and quickly flagging taking down the ads that bring what they are doing to the attention of buyers.
They simply cant flag the truth of their scam over her on Rochester Topix. The more people that are aware of what they are doing the better.
The folks at CL main headquarters know of this website and have the posting info of those breaking the rules.
And yes here is another good post on CL pointing things out in great detail.
Enjoy Dealers that are called out as scammers !!

Dealers posting as owners ??? you are soo stupid.
Who are the dealers, why don't you use the names of the dealers if you are calling them out??
#51 Jan 22, 2014
More than likely these are the small 2 bit dealers and they are not well known or they would be playing by the rules
#52 Jan 22, 2014
Well if you are calling them dealers, tell us the names.
or stop wasting time beaching about something with no names.
#53 Jan 22, 2014
Just go to central auto auction and you will find many of these guys they are the ones with no teeth !
#54 Jan 22, 2014
Well here we go again
Keep posting dealers and I will continue to call you out !!
#55 Jan 23, 2014
Rumor has it that you just might see a story about this topic on local tv news soon. It would be great to see a reporter ask a dealer why they scam the public on tv to see and hear their reaction.
#56 Jan 23, 2014
Your not calling anyone out, cause you are failing to name name of dealers.

After reading the highly 'intelligent' posts regarding this subject I have come to a conclusion:
I would rather buy from a dealer than a private owner.
Why? Because if the private owner cars are anything like you posters then I can probably be assured that cars sold by individuals like yourselves are probably riddled with problems and poor maintenance.
How do I surmise this? Well, obviously if the owners have so much time to dilly dally on a site like this they obviously don't have the funds or intelligence to maintain their cars properly.
If you buy from a dealer they are required, by law, to provide you with a vehicle that is mechanically sound and safe.
Back to the real point, why in the world is Craigslist charging dealers a fee? Because they supposedly are rich? That's not right. But, it's the typical mentality that exists today. Tax/charge everyone who actually works for a living so we can set up programs for everyone else to sit around and soak off of others. Haven't you geniuses looked at your phone and internet bills? There are taxes on each of them to 'take care of those less fortunate''. Or, in reality, your probably sitting in cafe that offers free wi-fi and purchasing one cup of coffee as you take up 3 hours of their time.
By the way, I'm not a dealer. Just someone who actually works for a living.

What do you do in life that you are so obsessed with people learning? Do you still wet the bed so your mother can punish you?
#60 Jan 23, 2014
So Fred now we have the first name of a dealer that is pissed off .... this must be working !!
#61 Jan 23, 2014
'Garrshh, Yep, cletus. It's working!"
#62 Jan 23, 2014
Fred, you make a point when you say that you would want to buy a car from a dealer for nothing else would for the warranty, and in general you are correct. Facts are the big name dealers in town only keep the best used cars and they simply dump their leftovers to the guys who are posting them on CL.
People feel comfortable buy a 2 year old car with 20k miles on it for doan or hoselton, but we are talking about 10 year old cars with 140k miles on them for the most part.
There is a reason that car buyers dont want any part of these at any price as for the most part they are all worn out by then or the original owners would keep them.
I have no problem with any business trying to make money as that is the backbone of our economy.
My problem is with the people posting as owners on Craigslist to try to scam car buyers. Clearly CL points out this by stating private parties no dealers when posting. Why is it one would ask dont they just post in the dealer section well there is 2 reasons, one being that dont want to pay the required 5 dollar fee, and the second is they know deep down they understand that buyers want no part of the run down junk cars they are selling.
If they are going to keep trying to scam people this forum is a great place to call them out.
And by the way you sound like a close minded Lonesberry listener that is upset by the fact that are still working in your 60s and not on early retirement like I am in my late 50s !!
#63 Jan 23, 2014
Thing is, they're not even dealers. They're car flippers. I just flag all ads I see like that and everyone reading these comments and complaining should do the same.
#64 Jan 23, 2014
Here we go again,
All the above ads are from dealers posting in the owner section of CL
