a bullet to the hand did NOT "spin him around" ..lol
A bullet to the hand that had enough force to go into his side, through the rib cage and out does. You were 17 and signed up for the army and 40 now so 23 years ago you signed up. With no wars going on you mest have cleaned a lot of latrines. And I guess you really did forget a lot about ballistics. Go watch crime TV and brush up rookie

No, that would be real life, living in a @#$% up neighborhood on my way to the store for some cigs when across the street and a couple houses down somebody gets shot and their body twists all the way around. It was the impact of the bullet along with the initial action to turn and run when the gun was fired. I found out later the bullet was a 22.

This was a horrible tragedy for everyone. I'm sure everyone involved wishes for a different outcome.

So many people keep saying that going through cars shouldn't be a death sentence. IT ISN'T. Chris ended up shot because he charged a man with a gun. A man who was only trying to do the right thing for his family and his neighbors. Yes, confronting three people in the middle of a windy stormy night wasn't the smartest thing to do. ROD could have been killed. He had no idea they were teenagers. They easily could have been armed with knives, gun or crowbar. In the dark there would have been no way to tell.

The facts will come out in court, not in the media jungle.

Wow, you're so quick to believe he 'charged' at Rod Scott. I find that VERY hard to believe; have you ever had a gun in your face!?!?! Sounds more like they were just trying to scatter, and Rod oveerreacted. Ya, know, that happens when you sneak up on people in the middle of the night and stick a gun in their face. It's dangerous. It's reckless. Kinda like drinking and driving. Wait until Rod Scott gets acquitted, and all the gun-toting wannabe law men start shooting first and asking questions later, and your kid ends up dead. Where's your compassion for the kids family and friends I wonder???

You're already contributing to his defense fund?!?!? The facts about exactly what happened haven't even come out yet. The indictment is still sealed. What a shame that you're so quick to help this man avoid responsibility for his irresponsible actions.

I'll bet you're a friend or relative (or maybe this is really John P. or Rod S!). I hope no-one contributes unless/until we know more about what happened. Like the indictment, the 911 call, the forensics. I'm not ready to acquit OR convict him....why should anyone else when we still are short on details.

Remember, this is just a $$ collection for (sleazy) Lawyer John Parrinello. He's the guy you call when you've REALLY done something wrong!! I'd hate to put any money in his pocket (like he isn't filthy rich already, he should take this case pro-bono if it's the 'right' thing to do).
SHAME ON ALL OF YOU.

Mr. Skeptical,
You have humbled me with those words.
Parrinello is a two-bit barroom lawyer, taking his antics to the media and forgetting to take his bi-polar meds. I too, need to wait and see what comes out in the FACT dept, and make a judgement then, not, as I had previously done; jumping on Mr. Scott's bandwagon and defending him.
We will see when this proceeding starts.
Not afraid to say I might be wrong...
I won't however, flaunt it, if I'm right.

I agree with you there. Parinello is a screwball. "Forgetting to take his bi-polar meds" ROFLMAO!!!

I also agree, I could be wrong, but it's far too early, and facts are too light on detail for ANYONE to be putting money into Parinello's wallet to defend this guy yet. When more facts come out, maybe I will become a Rod Scott defender. It's just too early. On the other hand, it could go the other way too...maybe some of you will decide there's a little more to the story that Rod's side of it.....Not only is the jury still out, but the jury hasn't even been picked yet!

I was serious about the meds. The MCC trustees are deathly afraid of this chooch and he was on and off again with the drugs last summer. Why do you think THAT took so long? Can you say "schizo", without laughing? He should just retire; I wouldn't let him defend my dog in a rape case...

WOW hero really, ok i know there were out doing bad thing witch most kids are doing and i understand how wrong that is but if it was your 17 year old kid would you be OK with him/her being shot and killed, if so then you are really fucked up.. and unless you know Chris Cervini and wat kind of kid his is. if i were u i wouldn't say anything kids make bad decision does that mean they all should be killed? Chris was an amazing person and always helped people out, and if you think its ok for him to be gone his parents and close friends having to go through all of this then you really have problem and you need help. Scott is NOT A HERO not even close to one.

Chris was my friend and i will never see him again because scott thought it was ok to kill him

RIP Chris, i love you

Hero, HA I think not. He shot a 17 year old kid. Granted the kid was wrong for breaking in cars, I will say that. But this guy confronted 3 kids, not even on his property. He can feel guilty or claim self defense all he wants, but nothing will change the fact that he murdered another human being! Second Degree Murder is the least the system can do to him. You want to say hero, would he still be a hero if it was your 17 year old kid that was killed?
Is it ok for some guy to take the law into his own hands and shoot your child?? If so then you have a serious problem.
Like I said above the 3 boys were completely in the wrong, I will agree with that. But did the one deserve to be shot and killed by some guy defending a property that is not his to do so with??
If you really think Mr. Scott is a Hero, then let him shoot your kid when your kid is doing something wrong, lets see how you react then.
You people that call him a hero make me sick. He killed someone and you want him to get off scott free. Get your head examined I say!!
Weird how two kids didn't get shot and one did. How did that happen? It maybe has something to do with charging him. Luckily for George Zimmerman, he didn't see Trayvon coming and got all the self-defense evidence one could wish for at the expense of almost being beaten to death. I dont blame Mr Scott for not waiting to taking his beating first.

If we had more people looking out for their neighbors and their neighbors property, maybe we wouldn't spend so much time talking about how long ago in the past we used to be able to sleep with windows open and leave doors unlocked but now we have to have alarm systems, secure locks, etc etc..

You cowards who prefer to hide in your homes while your neighbors are preyed upon make me sick, you aren't Americans, you are Neo-Americans. The country suffers as a result of your cowardice and unwillingness to be a good neighbor.

Maybe you missed the part where there were 3 of them? I am not interested in fighting people who should not be robbing or burglarizing in the first place. How am I supposed to know if they are armed with a knife or some other burglary tool they can stab and kill me with. You come at me, I will shoot you. PERIOD.

Does not matter, this man should have NEVER have done this. It was not his property, and he killed a kid. He is not the law, he is a common citizens. I do not care, maybe people should lock their car doors too. That might help...duh
Staying inside and calling the police is what the average respectable person would do but there are those that go above and beyond the duties of the AVERAGE person. Scott appears to be one of those people. It is certainly tragic that a young man lost his life but crime often leads to tragic results. It almost always works the other way around though with a innocent being murdered at the hands of a criminal. People self-defense is self-defense. Standing by and watching is the first phase of a neighborhood losing itself to crime. Odds are that this neighborhood will see a tremendous reduction in the amount of crime that is perpetrated on it and it will be due to this very unfortunate killing of this teenager.

You got it wrong, Zimmerman approached, hit and killed Trayvon. And as for Mr. Scott, that issue happened nearly 3 years ago.
