Our Tax Dollars Hard at Work

Batavia in Genesee County, 25 miles West of Rochester, is the hot bed of yogurt production in the USA. Quaker Muller and Alpina have built plants and are producing millions of cups of yogurt using local dairy farm milk production. These plants are providing well paying jobs for friends and relatives who live in this area. Not to mention a up spring of support industries that have set up job to support these plants.

That our tax dollars at work ???
What about FEMA forced flood insurance in chili and gates while millionaires on the coast of our nation don't pay anything ?....
Scams ...scams ... & more scams is where our hard earned tax dollars go.

Beware of liberals posing as Americans

NY State gets yogurt, other states get high paying technology jobs. Yeah, I vote for yogurt.

The coffee trucks that pull up on breaks, custodians, security and trash collection? This will make our economy prosper. Batavia is our answer to Silicon Valley, only making poor quality yogurt instead of high quality electronics. We need Apple, not yogurt.

EdW,

Let's face it, you're way off base here and probably a Democrat.
Corning and Ithaca, with their wealth of schools and federal funding ARE the new Silicon Valley. If the farms and infrastructure of "farming" with the related production knowledge already exist in Genesee County; why not utilize them and start a NEW industry? Way to look outside the box Dude. I like the progressive way the area has developed so quickly and put people to work. Says a LOT about their leaders and businessmen.
BTW, would you rather the folks out there didn't work and were on entitlement programs?

You missed my premise. Rochester needs skilled jobs, and an industrial base to support them. Farming (which is beneficial) does not provide that boost to the economy. Rochester's economy is abysmal. We need major players like Apple, Boeing, Samsung or General Electric... not mediocre companies like Kodak... or a reliance on farming.
