Two men are recovering Sunday morning after a double shooting on the city's northeast side late Saturday night.

Rochester police were called to the corner of Portland Avenue and Merrimac Street around 11:30 p.m. They say two males, a 16-year-old and 24-year-old, were both shot in the upper body.

The teen was taken to Rochester General Hospital by a private vehicle and the 24-year-old was transported to Strong by ambulance.

No word yet on either of their conditions, but police say their injuries do not appear to be life threatening.

Police do not have any suspects in custody.

Unfortunately it is not. I wish Rochester would do what Toronto did in the 1970s and literally force the trash out of the city. In Toronto, the poor can't afford to live within the Toronto Subway loop. Any areas that were going downhill were quickly gentrified and the trash was effectively priced out of the entire city. That's why you never see any ghetto areas in Toronto. They all live way out in the suburban areas such as Scarborough, northern Etobicoke, Rexdale etc. Deliberate legislation and regulation helped to nip the problem right in the bud before any major Canadian cities were destroyed like they were in Rochester, Buffalo, Detroit, Chicago, Cleveland, St. Louis and many more. We could solve the problem too if we raise our rental prices UP THE ASS in poor communities and force anyone who can't support themselves and who only leeches off of society into Greece, Irondequoit, Penfield and Henrietta. That would be fine by me. Low income, subsidized housing does NOT belong in the City of Rochester.

"They" have already destroyed the city. Let it be. Why destroy the suburbs? Well several are going down hill fast as they spread.Who ever would of thought you would see white flight in Greece?
