I think she wants to be surrounded by felons just like she does at home. Why ask people if they have ever been arrested? We all know she like criminals working for her. All she wants to do by not asking potential employees if they have ever been arrested is to recruit more felons.
As a matter of fact she has probably broken some laws herself by now.

Given how many people are incarcerated in the US every year, it is hard to find anyone who hasn't been arrested at one point or another.

Most young criminals find jobs as cops so they they can continue thier lifestyle with the power of the police unions to keep them out of jail.

Small companies and corporations do background checks specifically to prevent hiring individuals with a criminal record. This is done to protect the business and its employees. The federal government insists on full disclosure of a criminal record (and if it is not disclosed properly, they will find it).

But our city government is not going to worry about it? Another strike against this nutty mayor. What is she thinking? She's pushing the envelope in the wrong direction.

It still amazes me on how the white suburbans put their nose soo far in the city's business.
We have no choice -- they city is a mess. Crime and incompetence properly administering the budget, agencies and programs will spill over and impact the 'burbs. That is unacceptable. Glad we could clear this up.

I can see it now at the interview for an accounting position. "Hm, I see that you checked yes for being convicted of a felony", can you explain please.
"Oh, yes m'am. I was working for a fortune 500 company and I accidentally embezzled a half a million dollars due to my gambling activities and did 10 years in the joint; I'm over that now." "Ok, you're hired! I'll see you Monday".

Maybe that nice lady from the Anesthesiology Dept at the U of R (who embezzled $2 million) could head up the city's accounting function. Without due diligence investigating her background, she looks good.

Another nutso move by the mayor. She just keeps coming up with bad ideas. I suppose that to populate positions with minorities, you have to drop the background checks.

Lovely's husband robbed the Source Jewelry Store with a gun with his friends and is a thief. A great role model.

If she was black she would get hired.

He could sue you for making such a statement.
He didn't rob the place, nor did he have any gun.
He was there so he was an accessory and therefore just as guilty as those holding the weapons.Excusing the crime as a "mistake" and "hanging out with the wrong crowd" just doesn't cut it. A ridiculous statement by nitwit politicians. Warren is laughable at best. You can't make this stuff up. Every week she seems to embarrass herself into a corner.

You're full of shit. Lovely's criminal husband can't sue anybody!
He was what you would call an accessory, so that would make him just as guilty as the guy
that held the gun to the store clerk's head and threatened to blow her head off. He was lucky
he was underage or he would still be in jail.

I see many are still reading and believing fiction. Just cannot deal with reality, it's too far fetched. Plenty of doctors convicted of Medicaid n Medicare fraud working in the city.
Straight up felons.
Not a minority either.

Attorney's convicted of misconduct, still holding court.

can we say double standards based on race ?

This is about Lovely's thief husband and no one else. His buddies had guns and were robbing a jewelry store. He was with them robbing The Source. They were going to harm the employees and threatened them. This is bad as its gets.

NO!!!! YOU ARE ALSO FULL OF SHIT. Lovely's felon husband threatened people's lives. It wasn't a white collar crime. It was a heinous and criminal one and he should still be in jail.

So on one hand you have....a City teenage get away driver(unarmed, threatened no one) for a robbery. Gets a second chance at being a productive citizen. Becomes one and in the interim doesn't get as much as a parking ticket....

On the other hand you have a Suburban teenage kid. Who steals a gun and in the act of selling it; shoots the buyer. They are given a second chance also. Two years later they are involved in multiple armed robberies and eventually are shot by a cop.

Which one was the true heinous criminal?
