Mar 12, 2012 | Posted by: roboblogger | Full story: WGRZ-TV Buffalo

The Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation hopes it has hit upon a unique way to use some landmark structures along the Buffalo River as a tourist attraction, without spending millions of dollars to improve or renovate them.

Actually I only live near buffalo, but I have to look at it and SMELL it, and read about the BIG ideas the supposed leaders have about how they're gonna polish the turd that is buffalo, this would be a very nice region if we could just demo the whole buffosaur and start over. Thanks for the understanding!

Let's prostitute the grain silos now...here's how:

1) set up committee of local politicians and real estate developers.
2) hire outside consultant to come up with marketing
scheme
2a) visit by schumer and or cuomo
3) local media pumps up idea
4) preservationist crowd and others weigh in

now wait 10 years

5) failure

the end

Don't forget the related clothing. Who can forget the Bass Pro hats and vests proudly sported by the elected idiots. I am sure that Schumer will embrace any idea that will get him in front of a camera.

The owners of the silos (boat marina property) keep pushing this nonsence so they won't have to pay to knock them down. They are ugly and not interesting no matter what the many preservationists say to the contrary.

Put a bunch of RDX in the bottom of each silo, stuff them full of undesirables from the East Side, fire the cap and enjoy watching the view to the tune of "It's raining men..."

This is the dumbest idea I've ever heard. These obstructionist who wrongfully believe these concerete nightmares of a bygone era still have purpose/function are dead wrong. I drive from Hamburg to B-lo every day. This is what Higgins, Schumer and Cuomo should do..

1) Open up the land of Bethlehem steel and expand tghe roadway..Make sure all the lights are synchonrized..perhaps make it an expressway..with that much land available there should never be a day where traffic gets backed up in the mornings going into the city or at night leaving the city.

2) Create "spec buildings" on the waterfront to allow citizens to operate small businesses on the waterfront.

3) Partner with a developer to put affordable apts on the waterfront for working class schmos like me.

4) An indoor multi-recreational sports facility on the waterfront would be nice. It could have an indoor track for walking, soccer, football, things like indoor baseball or t-ball...an ice rink..

5) A beach..do you know how many people from Buffalo, Hamburg etc go to sunset...all that money could stay in Buffalo if they developed a nice beach/club/restaurant for the summer. But then...there's the smell of cheerios...Could be worse tho.

6) Expand the metro to the waterfront.

7) I wonder if I can get paid hundreds of thousands of dollars for creating this plan.....

Your ideas are spot on.Develop for the locals and quit trying to please the out-of-towners! Locals don't care about those concrete tombstones.[QUOTE wh="Anonymous"]This is the dumbest idea I've ever heard.
