Lighten up NYSDOT,it was a prank not a major crime that the DOT is making it out to be. Wrong-YES-- funny-darn right. Now go waste our tax dollars on something else we don't need. BTW: When is Chuckie Schumer going to start a full blown man hunt/photo op for the perps?

Sometimes, what may seem funny at the moment doesn't always turn out to be so funny. You have to use your head.

Lighten-up, Francis.

This wasn't about removing a sign or putting anyone in danger.

This prank was great.

I would have tried it in my younger years.

First: it's not original:

I have been seeing these for years via photo-blogs.

Second: what with everyone complaining about wasting tax money, who wants to pay for repairing these signs every time they get damaged whenever some wannabee hacker decides to have a go at one?

Third: Don't we have enough rules and laws on the books? How about we just don't mess with the signage? All signage! When we start saying this sign is OK to mess with and that sign is not OK to mess with then we are opening a can of worms. Again, do you want to pay the paychecks of all the lawmakers that have to go around and break down the importance and liability of messing with each and every sign type? You know they will do it. It's all money to them.

Fourth: My friends call my Psycho. Don't ever call me Francis.

So basically, some crimes are OK and some aren't and sometimes wasting tax money is OK but only when it seems funny. How much does one of these signs cost anyway? Maybe, to offset the cost of repairing these things, we can have Wegmans ask all of their customers to donate a dollar towards the fund for hackers to put up funny messages. Screw it, cancer, Muscular Distrophy and the food shelf already have enough of our money.

After all, being entertained is what it's all about, isn't it? That's why we pay taxes.

Try to understand what you read "Phil".I said it was wrong but not a MAJOR CRIME.Got to love how you loons try to spin ONLY the subjects that you disagree with,so typical. Even you know it was a prank which is,if you don't know is a far different from cancer,MD,and the food self, surpised you didn't throw in the "save the children" card you loons are so love to use. Seeing you know so much about how the sign was hacked please tell us how much "damage" was done to the sign and how you know what it will cost. As you said, screw it,grow up sonny.

Zombies ahead is funny. Taking away a stop sign interferes with traffic movement...

Where was the spin? It is what it is, vandalism. As far as understanding what I read? You included a cliche about wasting tax dollars while simultaneously condoning the destruction of property paid for by tax dollars.

1) I didn't condon the "destruction of property" "Phil",again, read what I posted and please try to understand it this time. Once again "Phil" please tell us what "damage" was done to the sign and how do you know what was done to it.I'll help you out, look up what hacking is before you answer,O.K.? 2) Yes it is a waste of taxpayer's dollars to spend thousands on this "major" crime.Wouldn't the money be better spent on the crimes in the city like all of the shootings and murders? BTW: How many different names are you going to use today? Do you just happen to work for the state by chance?? LOL
