Tom was out of jail and living at his sister's house. She wanted him out because he is looney tunes now. No idea where he lives now in Roch. but they watch him on a daily basis. He'll never live a normal life again. Scuzz ball.

not sure .I am a bit older but i can remember walking by Gingellas house ,( it might have been his brothers in greece) in the 80s .I also remember Torpey and Taylor after they blew up some car at the Blue Gardenia . I think the mafia is still here but in a much diminished fashion.
Now its NY state who has become the gangsters .they runs the numbers ,own OTB and have the greatest strong arms the world has ever seen in there own private army called NYS troopers .
they makes these other guys look like boy scouts .
U r so rite. Remember when the streets were safe? I grew up with alot really good people, that they said were bad. They didn't want any drugs on the East side. Period. The drugs caused all the prolems. the crime. Dope will turn a good man into a thief, a good woman into a whore. Its screwing up our kids. Was it any different when Urlocher (roch chief of police) had the H.I.T. team, and paid cash
for a home on San Gabiel Dr. for his Mother. com'on -tazio

I was a teenager in Utica 50-70's and familiar with the mafia there from reading the newspaper, hearing the names, etc. I worked at a pizza parlor they frequented for private parties and meetings. Despite everything that might have been bad about the Mafia, they did keep the streets cleaned up from the small time gangs and hoodlums. I think the Utica cops let the Mafia handle what they couldn't be caught doing about cleaning up the city trash element. The old-timers knew how to run things, both cops and Mafia.

I should be smart and keep my mouth shut no one is suppose to talk about it. There was a big mob war back in the 70s/80s as we all remember. Dead Italian gangsters all over town. It was A Mafia team vs. B Mafia team in the local papers. The only problem it of all things the freaking Ukies from the Ukraine was killing everyone they have been in charge of what's left of the rackets ever since. They talk about this Russian mafia and all this but in Rochester at least it's a bunch of Ukranians. No one talks about the Ukies because unlike the Italians they don't exactly adverstise the business they are in.

WOW i know the exact houses you are talking about, right on Fernwood after you turn off of Lycyum going towards the old Douglas jr. high school. The meat market next 2 the funeral home on Goodman. Mafia will always be, not in the same fashion as 70's & 80's, but will always be around.

Actually..it wasd the A, B and C war...but the Media sort of overlooked the C crew. It spilled over all over upstate NY and into canada. It was a war that involved 4 families. It would make a great movie...you cant write drama like that.

Is there still a mafia in Rochester ? I've got news for you, it was ALWAYS Buffalo
