I don't understand why ??
What did the owner do wrong ??
Would you prefer she kicked it out of her car on the highway??
And they post her picture and everything, like shes a criminal.
Times are hard, maybe she had no money or time to take care of it??

If nothing else these ladies should be thanked for caring enough for the dog to leave him where they knew that he would be taken care of. The idiots that are running the system should take a step back and think twice before they act.For once Rhonda I agree 100% with you.

HAAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHA!
I knew that would get your attention.
Isn't the function of the ASPCA and Lollypop to protect these animals BEFORE they die?
Just wondering.
I thought that was why they got government funding and donated funding and blah blah blah.
Guess "they" can't see the problem if they don't look southwest towards Scottsville...
It will just be another sad story in a couple of months.

The ASPCA,yes--Lollypop,I'm not sure about.Maybe a few phone calls would "push" them into saving these animals.Wouldn't hurt to try,if that doesn't work maybe a protest in front of the farm after making sure the TV stations will be there. Can't think of anything else that will get them in gear.BTW: Yup,that sure did get my attention, not in a good way I might add!

Call one of these "Shelters"(Lollipop included) and tell them someone dropped off kittens or a dog starving & helpless and you need to bring them in.
See how downright nasty they get with you, accuse you of abandonment, animal abuse and say they don't have any room.
If you are lucky they will put you on a waiting list and "when" they have room it will cost you$$$.

I lived near several farms and have first hand experience with many drop off's and like I said.

They can be downright "Nasty"

Genesee, Monroe or Ontario counties makes no difference.

Nasty..........

I have called the Humane Society for help with feral cats and they offered no spay/neuter discounts. Some abrasive woman told me it would be $100 for them to take the kittens that I MUST pay, and they wanted the mother too. When I pushed, she told me the mother cat would most likely be euthanized. I think the "Humane" Society needs to screen those their employees better.

So what were they supposed to do? Toss it off the Vet's bridge? Release it on 490 in rush hour? "Forget" to unleash it from the rear bumper? These animal rights whackadoodles are complete dopes. Who will ever drop off a stray, after dealing with all this crap?

Yes, I agree. Calling the Humane Society in our area is no help. You have to be careful too because you can be held responsible just trying to help an animal in need.

Years ago I was going to Canada and could not possibly take a drop off kitten with me (no papers) I asked the "loving" no kill shelter in Batavia what to do as they would not take it.
Should I dump it on the road? Should I shoot it?
Answer, Do what ya have to do?
What the F do people pay taxes for?

Thank God for the Scottsville Animal Hospital they save the day and now get all my donations.
Yes it cost me $25.00 and they normally have a waiting list but they arnt nasty "Bitches" like Batavia's shelter or LPF

I really don't have anything bad to say about Scottsville Animal Hospital. I did leave them though after the two vets I knew best left (my favorite was terrible with people, but great with the animals). If you were there then - you know who I mean).
Here is a helpful link otherwise regarding the Humane Society:

What would your people in duh hood do with the dog?
Use it for Pit bull, Rottweiler training?
Don't get me started on animal abuse because Blacks in duh hood are notorious for it morality.

She left a poor defenseless animal to fend for itself! That's what the owner did wrong! That itself is criminal!

You didn't read the story.
She drop it off to one the those dog adoption things they were having at the Mall.
It's criminal to post a picture of her as if she's a criminal, and I hope she sues them all for it, but I'm sure they don't think see will sue cause shes not white and probably dont have money for an attorney.

Many people that are forced to give up their pet will choose to let it go in a rural area and hope for the best. Those people know that their pet has a better chance that way than if they bring it to the Humane Society. I am one of those rural people that does end up finding such pets, and I do the best I can. I could use a little help, but honestly, the ASPCA/Humane Society needs an overhaul and they need to account for where all the money we give goes. We need more spay/neuter and TNR programs. We need people that work for the Humane Society to be compassionate, not rude.
