The Batavia woman accussed of having sex in a public park cuts a deal for a different kind of justice. Suzanne Corona says she just wants to go back to her private life.

But she can't seem to stay out of trouble.

After she was arrested and charged with adultery for the rendezvous in the park, she was caught stealing food from a restaurant in Batavia. Today she worked out a very unusual deal with the restaurant owner and the punishment is very public.

Now Corona wants our viewers to know that she is not the person portrayed in the media.

"I'm not this awful, terrible person"

"I'm not this person that they are judging. They're misjudging me. I am not this awful, terrible person," Suzanne Corona said.

But Corona admits what she did was terrible.

It started when Batavia Police say she was caught having sex in a public park. That's why she walked into Batavia City Court today. But before she entered a planned guilty plea to public lewdness, Corona suddenly left and made her way over to the other reason she's in trouble.

Stealing food

It happened at the South Beach Restaurant last month. The owner says Corona came into the restaurant and started stealing food from the buffet.

"One of the girls noticed that when she was walking to her table she had ribs and then when she was picking up the plates there was no bones," Ken Mistler said. "So she put two and two together and confronted her and she said 'yeah I got 'em.'"

The deal

Instead of pressing charges, Mistler had a deal -- make Corona admit in public what she did. Corona will have to walk in front of the restaurant in a bright, yellow sandwich board which reads, "I stole at South Beach Restaurant and was caught."

Late today -- Corona signed the deal and it was just after that when she talked to us.

"If people would please give me a chance, I am not a bad person. I'm not a bad person," she said. Corona told us she made terrible mistakes, but after a very public admission, she wants her privacy back.

"Can't everyone just leave all of us alone?"

"Can't everyone just leave all of us alone?" she asked. "So we can go on and live our quiet little lives and mend our broken fences? Wouldn't that be fair?"

Corona will probably start walking in the next couple of days. The deal says she has to walk for two hours for two days. Restaurant owner Ken Mistler says he did this before when a man stole from his pet store in Batavia. Mistler says it's effective.

Corona's court case on public lewdness was adjourned to November 24th.

Yes, yes you are an awful, terrible person. You have done bad things. But hey, he who is without sin cast the first stone, right? And compared to serial killers, murders, drug dealers we all look pretty good! Too bad judgement in the end is not on a sliding scale, a curve or based on what others do! We all need forgiveness. Anyone can change if they desire it. Change is uncomfortable, even when it is for the better.
