also to be very clear<quoted text>
I tend to agree with you But.
If what you say is true, if the majority of city residents are getting terrorized by the minority.
Why doesn't black Mayor Lovely say with the full unwavering support of black ministers and black community organizer/activists and Adam McFadden?
Crime in Rochester is going to stop here and now. On my watch I am directing my hand picked police chief to come down on criminals like a ton of bricks. I will ask MC DA to prosecute to the fullest. I will ask Judges to set high bail and show little leniency.
The signal will be sent be a thug in Rochester you are going to jail/prison for a long time.
Mayor Lovely should say to criminals "I don't care if you rot in jail/prison" I am here first and foremost to protect the decent law abiding citizens of Rochester and MRC.
If Andrew Cuomo has to keep a few of his planned prison closings open for a few more years so be it. Get over it Andy.
If the problem is a small minority crush the relentlessly and don't let up. Make Rochester safe again.
a mayor and a councilman can not tell a judge how to sentence.
however while on the topic, our system is a severe problem.
they have all these gun laws, and general laws, yet people who are caught breaking them often end up out of jail and on the streets very quickly. This is done to get them in the probation system which provides revenue.
that is currently what nys cares about, revenue, not justice and safety and i do agree, our entire justice system needs a severe overhaul
when some thug can get caught with a gun and be back on the streets in weeks or days, we clearly have a severe problem where the system is benefiting the criminals, however that doesnt mean the entire city is made up of criminals
