Should Pistol Permit Info Be Public?

It's become a statewide if not a national debate. Should the names and addresses of people owning pistol permits be a matter of public record? Currently in New York State that information is a public record.

Only if the paper starts to print all of the names of people milking the system,belong to thugish unions,child molsters,wife beaters,rapist,public employees/officals,drunk drivers just to name a few. If they did that than I would say go for it,LOL!

Paper lists those who are delinquent in paying property and school taxes.
Sex offender lists are public.
There's a website that lists Felons who were released, paroled or still incarcerated.
There's a website that lists Civil Servants & Politicians and their salaries, State, county and local. including Police.
There are places that publish convicted drunk drivers. As well as Johns caught with hookers.
We list Pro Sports athletes and their salaries.
Real Estate transactions are public, so we know how much you sold or bought your property or home for.
DBA and Bankruptcy lists are published weekly.
Crimestoppers and FBI Most Wanted lists are published.

You can look up pistol permit holders info on the Monroe County website.
Just as you can look up most anything at the clerk's office, such as judgements, liens, etc.

The difference is that the paper published the names,address and the weponds that they have and COULD of made them a target for a thug that wants to get guns.Also they(paper)made targets of the people that don't have firearms to defend their family/homes.The only reason they(paper)did this is because they are VERY liberal and anti firearm ownership. In the wake of the sicko that shot all of the kids and adults in Sandy Hook they figured they would take a "shot"to push their agenda.Too bad it backfired on them,not.Any time they get a chance they will take away more of the people's given rights at the same time make a buck doing so. To your point,when was the last time the paper published a list of the felons that walk free on our streets or the people that make a living out of milking the taxpayers?,never,why?

Just because I dont have a pistol permit doesnt mean my home is not protected by firearms. I may have a shotgun which doesnt require registration or a permit, I also may have a hunting rifle (non-assault style). I could also have a compound bow or a vast knife collection.

Today's paper published that manslaughter felon Walter Casper was released. He's the dude who rolled his car off a cliff to kill his wife who was passed out or asleep inside.

The paper constantly puts the names of people who made a living out of milking taxpers, today included. They are call Senators, Representatives and State Politicians. There are also govt workers who milk overtime pay to pad their pensions.
