Why aren't these "teachers" fired on the spot like in the real world? Could it be because of tenure and the unions? Get rid of the unions and bloated perks/tenure that the taxpayers in the real world who pay them don't get.

Not only are bad teachers protected by their union, but by the court system as well.

In a recent D&C article they cited numerous instances where the courts and arbitrators sided with the teacher rather than the district. One of the articles even had a teacher (Lisa Rivera) bragging that she kept her job because it was too expensive for the district to go through the legal process to fire her.

I agree, but teachers that commit crimes and won't do their jobs should be fired like you or I would be in the private sector.

I have wrote many letters about must child's situation, to people who say they care for our children and will make a difference. They dismiss the issues! Blame my child for lieing and myself as the blind parent following my child like a lost puppy, when infact it was the teacher who said things and told me things, that I.feel are CHEATING in an I.e.p. meeting. I.want my child to be responsible. Not given UNEARNED GRADES. Its a lie! Or I don't get a response. I'm so fed up with the FAILURE to our children. They aren't even given.a chance to be successful in school. The principal always has an emergency has to go home the day I'm to meet with her for the truth. Makes me sick and no one cares to help!!!!
