I am doing something about it. I'm telling you and anybody else who thinks it's OK or necessary to use profanity or name calling either verbally or in writing that they will not be respected or make their point very effectively with me or many people that might otherwise want to join their cause. What if the president or your congressman started spewing profanity and hatred every time they opened their mouth? Would you think that they were qualified to lead others? My point is that far too many people don't know how to speak at all without sounding like filthy mouthed morons. I have continually stated my support for your cause, but if all you do to deal with it is to rant and rave on this little local forum then you will go on forever without progress. Provide leadership. Provide information such as phone numbers and addresses for local and state governmental agencies which might respond to your pleadings. Organize regular meetings where people can CALMLY and EFFECTIVELY craft solutions to your problem. Then you just might make some change. My only impression of you and those who post on these boom box forums is that you are a bunch of poorly organized, very angry and frustrated people who are only venting your frustration while accomplishing nothing. You have been out here for months now and there is not one less over amplified sound system to show for it. In fact I'll wager that the opposite is happening and you have attracted a steady stream of boom box owners who deliberately cruise past your home just to get you all riled up. I sincerely suggest that you all make a united and well organized effort to make your issue known to as many elected officials in all levels of government as possible. That's what they are supposed to be doing. Their job is to craft laws that reflect the wishes of the people. This will also have one other beneficial effect. It will occupy some of the time they now set aside to figure out more ways to pocket or waste our money.

And oh, if you're a Roseville resident who's sick and tired of being forced to listen to and feel this crap noise, please write your Senator, Mickey Switalski...he has steadfastedly said that he would NOT SUPPORT A BAN, or other penalties against noise ordinance violators, especially those idiots who drive around violating us in the privacy of our own homes! So, in other words, he refuses to support and protect the very people who voted him into office!
Please, click on this link to give Senator Switalski a piece of your mind:

Tell him to take action in our Michigan legislature to enact higher fines and penalties, including the confiscation of all stereo equipment! Tell him that HE WORKS FOR US!

Well, we have a network of about 85 Roseville residents who take one day a week each, to call and complain to Roseville Police. It's a unified effort and as far as I know, Roseville is getting about 10-15 calls, EACH AND EVERY DAY, just from our efforts group. I do know that they frequent my neighborhood on an increased basis, just because of my calls and emails. These inconsiderate idiots who boom and thump in my neighborhood have had war declared upon themselves. Trust me, I will win because some of them are getting a much more severe message than just a ticket.
As I continue to maintain, I don't condone violence or damages to property, but when we are subjected to damages far worse than monetary, so I fully understand it. Ask the idiot who lives near 11 & Gratiot, and drives a Taurus. He got out to threaten someone who shot his window out with a BB gun, acted all tough, and got his nosed bashed in and bloodied. Guess what? The neighborhood he used to violate on a daily and nightly basis is dead quiet for the last two months. Payback is a bitch.

BOOMBOX PLAGUE

Here's how to end the noisy boombox plague:
Ask some poor wretch if he'd like to have a ten- or twenty-dollar bill. If his answer is Yes, tell him about your noisy boombox neighbor and then say:
"The money is yours if you can figure out something so I won't have to hear that guy's boombox again. Don't kill him or beat him up. But do whatever you have to do to silence that Hollywoodized lowlife!"
Believe me, this is VERY effective. Heard of the VAB's? They're the "Vigilantes Against Boomboxes." Or you can start your own vigilante group.
Reactions, anyone?

Mark Roberts, you are a fool. I am taking the boom box players' side just because of your poor eloquence and your long-winded lack of tact.

I hope they rattle every window out of your house.

Well I for one have a few words of input for this topic
First off let me start by telling you a little about me, my truck, and what I do not as a living but on the side.

I WAS employed at FORD in Livonia for many years, since then I have opened a custom stereo shop and custom paint shop.

My truck: 2001 Custom Ford Excursion
Taking things to the extreme is what we do-starting with a stock truck and turning it into something priceless through efforts of hard work, sweat, and plenty of cutting.

Nearly 2500 hours of labor was spent making this dream a reality

*11" skyjacker lift
*22x11-inch American Racing ATX wheels wrapped in Nitto 40x15.5R22 Mud Terrains
*7.3L diesel with a Garret ball-bearing turbo pushing 38 psi of boost
*810 lb-ft of torque
*Bully Dog propane injection kit
*5-inch Bully Dog exhaust that was Jet-Hot coated
*both axles got ARB air lockers and 4.56 gears
*'02 Excursion headlights
*PPG Pearl White and Copper Orange

OK enough of that - there is a LOT more but lets get to the serious stuff:

Nineteen monitors ranging from 7 to 15 inches scattered from the headliner to the sun visors to the headrests to even the rear inner fenders can be viewed while playing Playstation 2, watching DVDs, or examining the way home thanks to Alpine navigation

JL Audio speakers provide the tunes, and with two JL Audio 450/4 amps and one JL Audio 1000/1 amp powering the 18-inch sub in the rear fiberglass enclosure, earplugs are recommended.

Have you ever been to a SQ competition?
SQ = sound quality

How about a SPL, or dB Drag ???

My truck is purpose-built for these competitions, some spending huge amounts of money on top of the line subwoofers and amplifiers to gain that extra few dB to win the competition
Hopefully one day I can try for the world record

I'd love for the chance to come to your house MArk, and let you look at my truck, get in it, see what you think about it.
I DO NOT drive around cranking my stereo, I onlt turn it up in the shop, at competitions, or in a secluded factory parking lot.
So I am not the one that you love to hate, I am the guy that builds the systems, and lets the kids do what they want.

Feel free to post your adress or email me whatever, I can get the truck out of storage, load it up and be in your driveway in about 3 hours time.

Reading you cry babies go on and on about loud music in cars, and the 50 foot ordinance is BS a stock car can create the violation. I work 3rd and sleep durning the day. Yet I have a car that SBL 142.2. You don't see me complaining about the idoits in the day time that blast the house radios, people yelling for stupid stuff, all kinds of motorcycles or all the construstion that is going on. I still manage to sleep. I think that there should not a noise ordinance since it is only targeting people that have car stereo's. People need to stop and realize that we live in a 24 hour world now. Noise is just another part of socity that we are just going to have to get used to, and if you are going to create a noise ordinance than make it for everything that creates noise over a certian sound level so far from that object.

Your idiocracy is hardly dumbfounding in your take that everyone has every right to disturb anyone and everyone in their path, while listening to noise in their vehicles. you're a jerk, and an idiot, just like the rest of those who force these sounds upon everyone....no one has the right....idiot.

I was just looking up to see if there were any type of Ordinances in my neighborhood, Clinton Township and I came across these post's, I 100% agree with "Mark", I live in a Apt community, and it doesn't matter if you live in a house , apt, or a box, it's disrespectful of these people who have these loud sub woofers in their cars and blear them through the neighborhoods, and than in my case pull right up into a parking spot, and since there and bounce up and down in their cars like animals, when they are less than 15 feet from my door wall, and it's vibrating, and my 3 year old is looking out the window, telling them to be quiet please, and than runs to me because she's scared, I dont know if I can call the police on these people, I dont know if theres a law, but im down right angry, if there driving down a busy street, okay it's nosy but will pass but to drive through a neighborhood, where when it is nice you like to have the doors and windows open and you cant because of these disrespectful thugs!!, so my ?? is is there a law , and if so what is it, because I will do everything in my power to see that its enforced against these puppets of society!!!!! can someone please email at [email protected] to advise

it's people like you who are OKAY in my book, I think what Mark and myself are trying to say it's all the thugs, and yes I use that term loosely, that drive around in small neighbor hoods, sit by houses , and or in my case in front of my door wall in my apt complex and blear these stereo systems, just to aggravate people and thing they look cool, well turn them down when you enter a sub or an apt complex how hard is that, do you see where's he coming from, it's not the streets or secluded parking lots, it's neighbor hoods...

Mark, i undersstand where your coming from, yes the music can be loud and annoying but $1000 fines or ripping the system out... thats very excessive most of the kids dont have that kind of money and what happens when teens are in a bind for money they turn to stealing, especially in an area like roseville. Face it you live in the new Detroit, deal with it or move somewhere like macomb twp, rochester, bloomfield hills. I dont have any kids blaring stereos on my street at night, you really should focus all the effort and energy that you are putting into something so stupid on other problems. Teens in roseville overdosing on prescription pills is a good one the increasing drug use of the kids in your schools. Those are just my 2 cents, btw i hope that when the kids by you get in a bind for money cause the law you tried to create puts them $1000 in the hole that it s your stuff their stealing because im sure your neighbors will hate you and i mean absolutely hate you when crime in your neighborhood goes up well have a nice day
