America's Thanksgiving Parade gets help from friends

There are 7 comments on the C & G Newspapers story from Nov 2, 2007, titled America's Thanksgiving Parade gets help from friends. In it, C & G Newspapers reports that:

“It's one thing to watch it in person or watch it on TV. There's a whole other dimension to be in it. It's so cool.”

Roll-out for America's Thanksgiving Parade starts earlier than you may think. Rochester resident Jim Gruda begins rolling the floats to the parade site the day before parade day. via C & G Newspapers

Does anyone know when/if St. Clair Shores has a Thanksgiving/Christmas parade over the holiday weekend?

I don't think SCS has either.

I wouldn't be surprised if I just don't know about it - I didn't know about the "nibble fest" until someone told me about it.

Krikey, I didn't even know SCS had a "symphony" until I attended the "nibble fest".

Exactly my point.

(And yes, we do. They did their one and only performance in 2007 at Lakeshore High School in October. They've been "on hiatus" because Mayor Bob, their chairman, couldn't raise money for them until election season)

Really, I may be wrong but, I heard Mayor Bob say he does not participate (as Mayor) in organizational fundraisers.

They raised the money through the nibble-fest.

But Mayor Bob doesn't do much of anything as Mayor, so I'm not surprised one of them is "not participate in organizational fundraisers".

He can work full-time on committees that function outside of the city, but he can't seem to accomplish much for St. Clair Shores.
