I'm sorry if this sounds cold, but I am looking at this in a logical manner, and facts are facts.
In my opinion..
The real tragity here, is that after being in trouble in two state's. The Police knowing him so well, after being in trouble here. And the Police knowing he had uncontrolled mental health issue's, no one cared to address.
Is that no one took the time or action necessary to help him, when all that he had been doing is a major sign - That he is reaching out for mental help.
Those are sign's, Parents are consantly being told Not to Neglect - Because they are a walking time bomb.
So, the real Tragity is, he was known to have phycological problem's or mental health issues following the death of his Father.
And he was Neglected, and there's no one to blame but those closest to him for not getting him the help he needed.
Why wasn't he receiving the treatment he needed for his mental health problems.???
Dear Lord I did when my daughter needed help.!
He was known to be a walking time bomb.
A time bomb can not be predicted.
Thats why parents are told to de-activate it, by getting them help, "Before" something Tragic like this happens.!!!
He was also probably close to suicide, and no one noticed.??? Thats why kids do things like this.!!!
You have no idea who your talking about, or what kind of life Billy had, or what kind of parent I was, keep your uninformed opinions to yourself~keep believing what you want to believe, but one day the truth will come out! God doesn't sleep!

theres nothing more scarier & meaner than a young white guy...the police know this too because theyre also white & rmemebering their own childhood, so he identified with the situation & did what should of been done to him when he himself was a teen...because see white a white kid is "troubled' it becomes concern, when a black kid is "troubled" hey its just what "they" do

right?

Billy's in Hell & the police that shot him will meet him again

I understand ur feelings and i do apologize for any discomfort I may have caused I was wanting to put closure to the situation. Why wait 3 yrs? I had just moved to Michigan knew nothing about this place or anyone. This has been on my mind every day since that day. But the main problem with the whole situation is ... I was a witness, and I was THE ONLY ONE that had to SEE everything that happened from the time he was trying to leave my driveway. THATS Y I AM TRYING TO REACH HIS MOTHER. I wanna let her know EXACTLY what had happened that night and finally let her put this to rest. Not to recieve threats or upset anyone. Sorry once again.

Billy was no "good kid", he was constantly in trouble both here and in MI.
How would you feel if after chasing him, and the cops seeing him with a weapon, they waited for him to shoot. A stray bullet cuts through your house, and killes you or someone you love.
I'm pretty sure you would then consider that the shoot first look for plastic later scenario is the best.
I'f you consider a 15 year old with a police record in 2 states a good boy, I really hope you do not have any kids.
As far as I'm concerned, he got what he deserved.
If you are stupid enough to point a gun, toy or not, at a cop, you deserve to be shot.
Billy was a good kid i knew him since we were both about 7. he had left my house 2 weeks ealrier from living with me and its funny how you people can just judge him without really knowing him. also there WAS NO gun found at all and in fact they later changed the story and said it was the seat belt that they saw

Does anyone REALLY know what happened that night? Who are we to judge people. In my eyes the police and the boy was wrong. So who really wins? not the family of the stolen vehicle, not the mother of the deceased, or the police? The truth will all come out one day let God have his way in determining when.

So sad for everyone involved. I worked with homeless teens for many years. They have issues. I wonder if this was suicide by cop. My thoughts to the cop, the kid and all family members involved.

You know, a cop just wants to go home from work at the end of their shift like the rest of us.
It does sound like overkill, but we weren't there. Anyone pulling a gun while running from the police, is making that officer believe they may not go home that day! They don't need that crap!
Its so sad that this kid did this, but as much as I dislike police, I have to say that if I was in that situation, I would shoot the kid.(and I worked with abusedd, neg;ected and homeless kids my entire career. I am a social worker). Yet, I know police have the right to go home at night.
Too bad Billy pulled a gun, and for all purposes, that is what he did, he pulled a gun. The fakeness of it really doesn't matter. No one but he knew it. Therefore, the consequences are as if it was real. Those are suppose to be the consequence. Cops may have had to shoot more than once cuz he may have still been close enough to get to the gun and take an officer out. They shot until everyone was safe, including innocent people in nearby homes, buildings, cars. There is no lawsuit here.
