Battery Giant was a great choice for extra capacity batteries for my cell phone. I ordered it by the mfg model numbers and it came with a new cover and everything. Next I ordered a laptop battery for a 5 year old Dell, it came in plugged it in and worked great. I would use them for future purchases.

I am a repeat satisfied Battery Giant customer. They always have my mother's hearing aid batteries in-stock, AC312-4AD Energizer Zinc Air, and for a great price(much less than the dr.'s office)! Great quality and sold in a convienent eight-pack.

Hey Dan, did you actually go into the store, or just call them on the phone. From what I've heard, the store was sold and under new management and their phone number was different than listed in the phone book. Besides, Have you been to Radio Shack lately? please.....

Judged: 1 1 1 Hi Larry, I had posted this complaint on YELP, and later a Gary Eddy, Operations Manager, contacted me.... Or so he said he was. I did finally get a free battery from him, sent to my house. Anyway, a short time later someone by the name of Bobby V from Hazel Park, Michigan left a message on YELP pretty much pointing out how much of an idiot I was to give Battery Giant only one star. He also seemed to know I was an older person, and not a young whipper snapper :-). Anyway he went on and on about stuff like I probably could have got the battery from a dollar store. Anyway, I suspect he works for Battery Giant, and posted that insulting comment. Ha Ha on the Radio Shack comment. I did go there and found out that they also did not have the battery, nor did any of the Radio Shack stores in the area. And yes, once in a while I will visit a Radio Shack store....... but later wonder why I ever did it again :-) |

Judged: 1 1 1 Larry, the saga continues with Battery Giant. The free battery that Gary Eddy of Battery Giant sent me turned out to be an old expired one or possibly used one. So maybe it would be a wise choice to stay away from Battery Giant! |

Battery Giant does not stand behind their product.
I purchased an AGM type replacement battery (from Battery Giant) for my Polaris Sportsman 700 ATV, for $109.95,just under a year ago. The battery seemed to work fine when it was new, but seemed to gradually lose power over the time, even though I use the machine year round, and now that we are having our first large snowfall of the year and I need to plow, the battery won't power up at all. I started by taking my bad battery to the store that was closest to me; the clerk told me that I had to have the original reciept in order to help me, so I asked if he could please look it up. He asked if I purchased it from his store; I replied "No" he told me that the Battery Giant stores are like islands and that I was going to have to go back to the store in which I purchased it from. I searched for my reciept, but couldn't find it, so I called the store in which I purchased the Battery from; they told me that they moved their store, supposedly transferring all of the customer based information; however, they somehow conveniently could not find any of my information. They told me to bring the battery to their new location and they could sopposedly tell the age of the battery. When I got there they checked the battery, told me that it was completely dead, and that the battery was well beyond the warrenty,so they attempted to charge it over a four hour period then eventually told me that it would never hold a full charge and that I needed to purchase a new one at full price. While I was waiting for the battery to charge, I spoke to a close co-worker who happens to have many recreational vehicles; as I complained about what was happening at Battery Giant, he replied that he would never go back there because none of the batteries that he purchased ever lasted over 1 year, funny that that's the warrenty period that they offer, and mind you that this guy is anal about taking care of his stuff. Bottom line, don't waste your time or money on Battery Giant. I work for the Big three and have hundreds of co-workers that I plan to tell my story, so you may have screwed me once (Battery Giant) but in the end, you are screwing your own business. |

I was blasted quite a while ago for giving Battery Giant, on Mound road in Sterling Heights, a bad review - and ....even Jesus Christ came in for a hit also! A short time after I gave that bad review, the store closed. Enough said!

How to Recover a Fully Discharged Lead Acid Battery
X By James Stevens, eHow Contributor Print this article The best way to recover your battery is to charge it slowly. Lead-acid batteries need to be kept charged otherwise the cells can be permanently damaged. If you have a fully discharged lead-acid battery, the best way to recover it is to charge it very slowly using a "trickle" charge. This lets the individual cells recover and means the battery retains its charge. If you charge a fully discharged lead-acid battery quickly it's likely to lose its charge. Check the battery cell caps for removal. If the caps come off, verify fluid level inside the battery. I frequently shop at Battery Giant on Mound and 12-mile, this store used to be located on Mound and 17 mile. It appears they did not close they moved to a larger more populated location.
Lead acid batteries will not remain charged with infrequent use, they will deteriorate you must use a battery tender and maintain the voltage above 12.2 volts otherwise sulfation will deteriorate the battery. Operating your ATV, motorcycle, snowmobile once a week or month will not properly charge the battery and the battery will self-destruct from sulfation. Several battery tenders have desulfation modes that can reverse the sulfation. The one that I prefer is the NOCO Genius. If the Genius detects sulfation it will automatically desulfate the battery. |
