Hey...I grew up in Michigan, Redford to be exact. The smoking ban in California is WONDERFUL! It is a pain initially but once people see the difference they will wonder why they didn't pass this legislation earlier. it's a health issue not a choce issue

Give me a break. It's about taking away the choice of business owners. The business owner should have the right to choose whether he/she wants to allow smoking or not, in their establishment. It's their choice to decide how much business they want to risk losing or accepting.

You may think you are healthier by not breathing the smoke in a business, but think again. Smokers still fill the outside air and add that to the rest of the pollution. Whether it's indoors or out, the smoke fills the outside air. At least, with indoor smoking, many businesses have filters. Since they smoke outside, there are no filters and it's all direct smoke.

Most people are sheep who believe what the government wants them to believe. You want to believe you're breathing better..so be it. But don't be naive and think that decision is about health. It's about giving in to the whiny crybabies who don't get their way. The government is weak that way. They cave in to idiots and more so if they can make money. If they were really serious about our health, then they would ban smoking completely. You won't see that because they make too much money on the cigarette/tobacco industry.
