This right to work lawr might be a little bit of grandstanding. If u remember years ago the uaw was losing so many members and desperate that they tried to unionize hudsons dept. Store. When they didnt readily join uaw they went and voiced their displeasure.things like i wont be going to hudsons etc. Uaw has had in place 2 tier wages at car plants. There is alot of contradictory things that really makes people look at big picture and wonder if union is needed. This is what veteran workers were being offered substantial money to leave. These teachers get great pay and this is an area that state really doesnt need to try and solve. The money is there for this line of work.manufacturing many times is different.they can train someone quicker.there r going to be international unions where people will decide their best interest is to stay in it and reap rewards. Michigan enacted this law because things have been transpiring for years where workers dont have the financial stability as in past. This gives certain sectors ability to address this.teachers still can advance to great pay in michigan with benefits. The unions fight for them effectively. So they r happy with their packages.
