I sure hope he is ok and recovers completely, I am a firm believer that you should never go out hunting alone, just for various reasons.

This is a very good reason to invest in a tree safty harness, and use it. They are not that expensive and also can help tremendously when dragging out a harvest. When you get to your desired height in the tree, fasten your harness to the tree before final adjusting of your stand. It should also be the last thing you do before lowering yourself back down from the tree.

wow thats good timing for the friend to be in that area when he came to. Hunting is fun but it can also be very scary no matter how long you have been doing it.

I always comment to my husband to wear a safety belt before he goes hunting in a tree stand. He always does because he knows of too many hunters falling out of their tree stands and are paralyzed now.

My prayers go out for a quick recovery.

I as well am a co-worker of Jim, and a good friend, and I think that mi hunter is a dick. I think that you need to stop talking shit about someone you don't know. He is a great guy, and you shouldn't be judging people you know nothing about.

What ever happened to just hunting from a ground blind? When I was younger that's all we ever did (as tree stands weren't legal for firearms) and we never had a problem. Just ban elevated blinds and you will never again have to read a story about someone who fell out of a tree stand and was hurt or killed.
