I want it built in robbinsville. i'm 33 years old, white, educated... and i live here. this can only help our town. please stop the racist comments, if you have a problem with the way robbinsville is evolving from a backwards town into a progressive community of the future, then you probably should move to a town that is not willing to change. Good luck with that, and best of luck to your kids who will not have a chance at surviving in the new economy.

I live right down the street in historic Windsor where the temple is being built. They have already redone Main street and put another traffic light on rt130. When they laid the corner stone the traffic was unreal as they bused in a ton of people. Our town is already under siege of people looking to buy homes close to the temple. I can see Windsor losing it's historic title in the near future and the town going to hell.

Robbinsville let the temple in because they wanted to generate the $million in building and inspection permits.

I am a Catholic, but I would object to letting St Patrick's Cathedral to be moved here because it is TOO BIG and would attract too many visitors for our local roads to handle.

I have just recently learned of this Mandir (temple/cultural center) 3 days ago. Do you know how I found out? We have the pleasure of looking out our front door at the whole shebang. We live on Hankins Road. A person just bought 6 acres next to my home and wants to build a 12,000 sq. ft. home in what is now woods to be close to his temple. I have been to the temple site 2 times and got 2 different stories. One said it'll be the 2nd biggest in the world, another said it won't be that big. The temple alone will be 20,000 sq. feet. Today is some holy day there and there are about a thousand Hindu's (bused in wit about 30 school buses) worshiping in a temporary structure as I write this. We have the privilege of listening to this construction over the next 5 to 7 years.
Anyone want to buy a home with a view?
The temple will attract people who want to be near it, so hold on to your house for a while because property values will go up.

Idk who you people are talking to, but property values will skyrocket. Surprised about, the racism here, lived in robbinsville for decades, and am grateful I won't have to travel 40 min to pray. Too many towns have rejected temples due to racist fears, but the unanimous support from the town board reflects the beliefs of most residents and their open minded ness. Thank you!

This is absolutely ridiculous. NO ONE wants it built in Robbinsville!
No wonder we lack culture in this country and at the end we are the one who suffers because we are jealous of others.

I live on Hankins Rd. It is the worst.. Property values are going to plunge to the gutter.. I am getting 100,000 less than what I should be getting, but her advise is to sell before the temple goes up.. bc after the temple goes up the traffic is going to be crazy. and value of properties are going down.. so my advice to my fellow Hankins Rd neighbors... sell your houses.. or ure gonna smell cury everyday you wake up.. and these people are dirty they walk on ur property they don't care.. they liter.. I went to the site and some indian refered me to the edison temple.. they destoryed the area... SO BYE BYE ROBBINSVILLE!!
You need to correct your vision buddy -- your house value is plunged because of the economy not because of someone building temple. Change your vision and you will see it -- your property value will go up once this is done. Mark my words.

I am simply stunned by the racist views. Please open your eyes and accept the new world. Otherwise remains uncultured and in the dust.

Why so much hate people??? Last time I checked we lived in "melting pot"....Indians bring good business opportunities, good schools and good values! Get over it already. They have been in this state in large numbers for at least 30 years so what's up?? Property values will rise because they have $$$ and will want your houses to be near their temple! Think of it like a museum, go visit and learn something!

Sincerely,
Someone who is not Hindu or follows BAPS

Being an economist, this temple should provide sustainable economic growth for the area. There are always initial concerns about any project big or small yet a project like this is just once in a lifetime. I am a Catholic and I have seen what this organization has done for the country in Chicago, LA etc. We should be proud and be willing to accept others faiths and beliefs, they Dnt make us less significant. We live in a diverse world and all of us are different in nature, accept it and respect every one. I am proud that my town is going to be a part if this beautiful project.

Most of the objects are pure racism to me. They don't let people build Temples other than Christian churches and mega churches in plain site. These people out of respect build it in the woods so as not to bother their neighbors. All the objects are racist. Christians have the audacity to send missionaries and the like to disrespect and destroy the culture of others but can't take it when people freely practice there religion.

Really? Why? They don't have limits on size of mega churches, and they broadcast on my cable tv! They even have the respect to build it in the back woods. Most people objecting are just racists.

Reading the comments here from my fellow mates of Robbinsville. I would like to tell you three things

1) The organization BAPS has stood in all odds of USA whether it be hurricane, Katrina or Floods. Be rest assured the volunteers of this organization are known for their selfless contribution to the society.

2) After this complex is built it is going to be the most precious area of the country in the coming 1-2 Decade(Refer the paradigm shift of land rates after the New Delhi Akshardham was built)

3) I would like to appeal you guys to visit one of the temples be it chino hills, Edison etc. You would feel eternal peace

And guys be rest assured this complex is going to bring peace and prosperity to our city state and country, the organization the temple and the volunteers are going to stand by everyone in all the situations good and bad and it is open for all religions, race

With folded hands I say jay swaminarayan to you
