Introducing THE Boeing Nightmare Line...
Will Not fly on a 787

Having worked solving problems my entire adult life it's OBVIOUS I have more experiance than you.

Any problem ca't be fixed without knowing what caused it. Once you identify the root cause you create a solution and apply it to the problem after recreating the cause of the problem.

Boeing has no idea what causes the batteries to burn. So they are throwing mud at the wall (fixes at the battery) in hopes one of the fixes will prevent the problem. AND IF the problem recurrs they HOPE the stronger containment box, venting, insulation and other modifications will prevent the fire from spreading and causing the 787 to crash KILLING all aboard.

In fact the fix is intended to vent combustion byproducts out of the plane so the flight crew may have no knowledge there is even a fire on the plane.

Fixed NO..

Maybe relagate it to flying cargo only for awhile. See if the Boeing FIX solved anything.

You have more "experiance" misspelling, so you "ca't" be serious, when it "recurrs" often enough to prove you're a PUTZ !!! LMAOROTFU~! Funny, guns don't kill, but batteries which haven't really harmed anyone.... are dangerous ???

NUT-SO, it flies tomorrow !!!

Japanese have it figured out.

Flying public will determine if the 787 flys passengers again.

As someone suggests, why not fly cargo in the 787 until the solution is tested. Especially since the plane maker does not know the cause of the fires.

Resuming Boeing 787 flights in weeks is best-case scenario: ANA
By Tim Kelly and Kentaro Sugiyama | Reuters – 17 hrs ago...

By Tim Kelly and Kentaro Sugiyama

TOKYO (Reuters)- Boeing Co's goal to have its grounded 787 Dreamliner jets back in the air within weeks is a best-case scenario and too uncertain for the aircraft's biggest customer to plan the plane's operational return to service.

All 50 of the technologically-advanced 787s in service have been idled since mid-January following two battery incidents at a U.S. airport and on a domestic flight in Japan. Boeing last week unveiled a new battery system and predicted the 787 would fly again within weeks rather than months.

Asked whether Boeing was presenting a best-case scenario, Osamu Shinobe, the architect of All Nippon Airways' strategy to put the fuel-efficient 787 at the center of the airline's fleet planning, said "That's what we understand it to be."

"The problem is we don't know how long the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) will take to finish its checks (on the new battery system)," he told Reuters in an interview. Shinobe, who joined ANA from college in 1976, will run the carrier from April following a switch to a holding company structure.

For Boeing to meet its target, Shinobe explained the planemaker needs to complete certification testing this week, gain quick FAA approval followed by an airworthiness directive soon after. It would then have to transport all the parts and equipment to 787s parked around the world to begin installing the new batteries. Boeing has said that could take a week per plane.

"If that happens, then what Boeing is saying is not a lie," said Shinobe, 60, noting it could take a month to put the new battery systems on all ANA's 17 Dreamliners, with Boeing likely to work on three jets at a time.

Twelve of ANA's 787 planes are parked in Tokyo, with another four at regional airports in Japan and one in Frankfurt. Each will be fixed at its current location. ANA has canceled more than 3,600 domestic and international flights since the 787 was grounded through to end-May.

Nobody knows what caused the 2 fires, NOBODY.

It's impossible to solve a problem without knowing the origin of the problem.

I wish Boeing a lot of luck with the 787.

By your "logic", I'll take the month bet, from the day I said it would take a month....

"The battery rework will take a month or less."

My month started 2/3/13 are you accepting the 50k wager ???

Conner described the planned fix for the battery as “a comprehensive set of solutions designed to significantly minimize the potential for battery failure while ensuring that no battery event affects the continued safe operation of the airplane.”

In a Boeing statement, Conner outlined “three layers of improvements.”

One involves redesign of the battery “to prevent faults from occurring and to isolate any that do.”

Another involves “enhanced production, operating and testing processes” for the battery.

Reports earlier this month said battery supplier GS Yuasa of Japan had been advised by outside experts to tighten inspection and reject more batteries from its production line.

The third level of protection is an improved system for channeling smoke and volatile liquids out of the airplane “in the unlikely event of a battery failure,” said Conner. He said the “enclosure system ... will keep any level of battery overheating from affecting the airplane or being noticed by passengers.”

One more 787 fire and Boeing is done with the 787 program.

Flying public will NOT fly on a plane that burns.

Three strikes and Boeing is out. There have been 2 strikes to date. ONE MORE and the 787 is out.

Will it burn again?

Will more injuries occur?

Will it be grounded OR terminated?
