Judged: 2 2 1 ....and Rubio and all the repukes auditioning for 2016. You repukes are still talking out of your faux asses I see. You will never learn. Rand Paul vs. Hillary Clinton, clash of titans The question of who could win such an unusual contest is difficult to answer. The Paul family has a tradition of winning votes from Democrats, but Clinton's new respectability could also pull votes away from the Republicans. One Kentucky poll found that in a head-to-head contest, she'd even beat Rand in his home state of Kentucky. http://www.cnn.com/2013/01/24/opinion/stanley... One Kentucky poll found that in a head-to-head contest, Last I heard, Clinton's favorability rating was 69 percent, and the favorability rating of the Republicans in Congress is somewhere in the vicinity of 10 percent, on a good day. The kinda says it all, doesn't it? Read more: http://thehill.com/blogs/pundits-blog/lawmake... ... she'd even beat Rand in his home state of Kentucky. Keep dreaming LEMMINGS! HILLARY 2012 |

Judged: 3 3 1 Appearently determined to prove the Bush Theory -- all famous name sons of office-holding Republicans represent a generational degredation of genetic attributes -- Rand Paul has once again made a fool of himself. Yesterday, during a Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee hearing, Rand declared that those who think there should be a right to healthcare believe in slavery: "With regard to the idea of whether you have a right to health care, you have realize what that implies," the senator said. "It’s not an abstraction. I’m a physician. That means you have a right to come to my house and conscript me." "It means you believe in slavery," Paul added. "It means that you’re going to enslave not only me, but the janitor at my hospital, the person who cleans my office, the assistants who work in my office, the nurses." "I’m a physician in your community and you say you have a right to health care," Paul continued. "You have a right to beat down my door with the police, escort me away and force me to take care of you? That’s ultimately what the right to free health care would be." If Rand was sane instead of Libertarian, the Miranda warning would need to be updated: You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say or do can and will be held against you in the court of law. You have the right to speak to an attorney. If you cannot afford an attorney, one will be enslaved and forced to represent you... Miranda has been in force for several decades, yet I'm not aware of any incident where the police showed up at an attorney's house (whether involved in the case or not), beat down the door and dragged their captured slave to court. Senator Paul must think the right to free speech means you can conscript anyone to speak for you, and the right to religious freedom means you can make the Pope attend your daughter's First Communion. Rights don't exist in a vacuum and are seldom defined as absolute. Courts are often called upon to find a reasonable balance between conflicting rights. The only absolute in this story describes the degree to which a simple-minded Libertarian can make an ass of himself. |

Good post Slew! My compliments. Frankly, and no one cares, but neither Paul nor Hillery would be good for Presidential run,my opinion.Hillery fails the test to know what was going on at Bengazi and Paul is too young, needs to learn more. But he does have a point. |

Judged: 2 2 2 The attacks on our embassies & diplomats are a result of perceived American weakness. Mitt Romney is right to point that out. Donald Rumsfeld was Secretary of War Defense between 2001 and 2006, so none of this should be news to him: June 14, 2002, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan Suicide bomber kills 12 and injures 51. February 20, 2003, international diplomatic compound in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia Truck bomb kills 17. February 28, 2003, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan Gunmen on motorcycles killed two consulate guards. July 30, 2004, U.S. embassy in Taskkent, Uzbekistan Suicide bomber kills two. December 6, 2004, U.S. consulate in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia Militants stormed and occupied perimeter wall. Five killed, 10 wounded. March 2, 2006, U.S. consulate in Karachi, Pakistan Suicide car bomber killed four, including a U.S. diplomat directly targeted by the assailants. September 12, 2006, U.S. embassy in Damascus, Syria Gunmen attacked embassy with grenades, automatic weapons, and a car bomb (though second truck bomb failed to detonate). One killed and 13 wounded. January 12, 2007, U.S. embassy in Athens, Greece A rocket-propelled grenade was fired at the embassy building. No one was injured. July 9, 2008, U.S. consulate in Istanbul, Turkey Armed men attacked consulate with pistols and shotguns. Three policemen killed. March 18, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen Mortar attack misses embassy, hits nearby girls' school instead. September 17, 2008, U.S. embassy in Sana'a, Yemen Militants dressed as policemen attacked the embassy with RPGs, rifles, grenades and car bombs. Six Yemeni soldiers and seven civilians were killed. Sixteen more were injured. So, did those attacks (and the 9/11 ones, for that matter) happen because of "perceived American weakness"? Is that what Rumsfeld wants to argue—that our country's diplomatic missions were targeted because George Bush's America was perceived as weak? As for Obama, the attacks in Cairo and Benghazi are the first two attacks on a U.S. diplomatic mission in an ostensibly peaceful country during his entire presidency—and they were sparked by that idiot wingnut Islamophobe Terri Jones. The embassy in Afghanistan was targeted by the Taliban last Sept. 13, but that's a country at war. If you buy Rumsfeld's nonsense, you can tally the numbers to determine which administration was "perceived weaker." |
