Maybe the poster child for illiteracy meant to write, "Most Christians are Hippocrates."

So who would mind being compared to "one of the most outstanding figures in the history of medicine"?

Thanks, JLA. I'm still trying to figure when I stated that I was, or was not, a Christian. I don't believe I have ever that adjective to describe myself. Certainly not here on Topix.

Pastor Jeremiah Steepek (pictured below) transformed himself into a homeless person and went to the 10,000 member church that he was to be introduced as the head pastor at that morning. He walked around his soon to be church for 30 minutes while it was filling with people for service....only 3 people out of the 7-10,000 people said hello to him. He asked people for change to buy food....NO ONE in the church gave him change. He went into the sanctuary to sit down in the front of the church and was asked by the ushers if he would please sit n the back. He greeted people to be greeted back with stares and dirty looks, with people looking down on him and judging him.
As he sat in the back of the church, he listened to the church announcements and such. When all that was done, the elders went up and were excited to introduce the new pastor of the church to the congregation........"We would like to introduce to you Pastor Jeremiah Steepek"....The congregation looked around clapping with joy and anticipation.....The homeless man sitting in the back stood up.....and started walking down the aisle.....the clapping stopped with ALL eyes on him....he walked up the altar and took the microphone from the elders (who were in on this) and paused for a moment....then he recited
“Then the King will say to those on his right,‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’“Then the righteous will answer him,‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
“The King will reply,‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
After he recited this, he looked towards the congregation and told them all what he had experienced that morning...many began to cry and many heads were bowed in shame.... he then said....Today I see a gathering of people......not a church of Jesus Christ. The world has enough people, but not enough disciples...when will YOU decide to become disciples? He then dismissed service until next week.......Being a Christian is more than something you claim. It's something you live by and share with others.

Just imagine the reception this pastor would have gotten in many churches if he had been BLACK as well.
That is an interesting parable and it does make a strong point. There is no evidence however that this story is true. People have attempted to verify it but the only information they come up with is this story itself.

Can a story on the internet verify itself?

The only thing hypocritical about this church is this fraud of preacher and his lefty agenda. He obviously worships at the alter of OPM: Other people's money.

Maybe the other 7000 members were so immersed in trying to figure out how to buy their own groceries and paying their own house payments, they just weren't in the mood to be accosted and harassed for money by some dirty, stinky stranger while they were trying to get to their only place of peace: church. Frankly, if I was in the congregation and used as a pawn in this "leader's" lefty agenda in this way, then sorry, nothing in the collection plate today, and I'd be in search of a new church.

PS- Our minister used to walk in on the kids bragging about BS & tell them, Christ hears it all.
If you ever had a minister, which I doubt, I suggest you request an exorcism.
And, if Christ hears you, his ears are bleeding!

Eff you, Slewchebag. YOU DO NOT GET TO TELL ME WHAT THE MESSAGE IS, especially since you are clueless what it is. Go worship at the alter of OPM. I choose to do otherwise.

See you in church on Sunday....

Of course the parishioners didn't give anything to the phony homeless guy. The Church had already wrung them dry. Amen!

I blame the Government Schools for Sheeple like you.

YOU have no clue as to how you have combined your Greed that is a result of your Secular Hedonism, with Christianity, and tossed in the mix, the Separation of Church and State.

Jesus said "Give that Scuumbag Caesar what is Caesars",.....Meaning, that piece of Shaat Government is gonna take it from you, so give it anyway.

Jesus did not say, "Give that Scuumbag Caesar what is Caesars, so that he can use it to buy off the Voters and use his Sheeple to stay in power".

Any reading of your posts, no matter whose name you use in the post, shows that there is no Morality in you,(Christian, Mooslim, Buddhist, or whatever). But you dare to call anyone else "nihilistic", as you feed your supple gut, sit on a computer, in a subsidized apartment, ignorant from a Government Indoctrination......ALL paid for by your Neighbours!

I like the story about this Preacher, I like his lesson.

I like it that the people need to be reminded about Charity.....Charity has NOTHING to do with the Government.

It is not Charity when the Government uses the Force of Law to steal from me, that which I do not give, to redistribute it to someone that I would not Give to!

Ignorant F'ing Sheeple, The lesson is not about the Redistributionist Policies of the Demokrat Plantation Masters and the Codification under Law of WHO is entitled, and who is responsible.

Go pick up the Bible, and read ALL of it, not just the select verses that may fit YOUR Personal Greed, and how YOU can apply your Verse Selections to the acquisition of your Personal Comfort at the expense of YOUR Neighbour!

Iddiiot,

Ya never got anything.

In all this time that I have watched you post 18/7/365, I cannot think of any value of yours as expressed by you here on Topix.

Ya got nothing.

Except for tossing stones and hiding under Mommy Topix's Skirt.

Also, charity is not the property of just one religion as well.
