Taxpayer dollars used to fund study tying Tea Party to tobacco lobby

Government waste at its very worst. Why is taxpayer money being used to fund a study of the tea party and its alleged link to tobacco companies? With $7,000,000 of taxpayer money one would think the NIH and NCI would use the money to study ways to prevent youth smoking, help people quit smoking or study ways to prevent or even cure cancer. Not pissing it away on some blatantly partisan attack on some group who is not in favor with the current administration. There should be some heads rolling over this.

There is no such thing as a "non-biased" source.

Government waste at it's worst.

" It's difficult to tell how much grant money specifically went toward this study, but federal records show researchers at the university have received $7 million since 2007 to study tobacco issues."

The first half of this sentence indicates that our tax money is not being managed very well if they don't know where every penny went. Or that they are lying or incompetent. The second half of this sentence is just as telling. What does a political groups connections to corporations like big tobacco have to do with "tobacco issues"? Or health or even cancer?
