Ok I'll give you the fact that the houses in the country club are nice but come on the streets over there are as bad if not worse (probably worse) than any other part of Midlothian. Walk or run down there and risk getting swallowed by a hole. Houses that look good shouldn't have crappy streets in front of them. I say that not only for the country club but every house in Midlothian.

Mayor Murawski wrote: <quoted text>WW1! Spot on!? I don't think so! The classiest part of town is the country club. If anyone is going to secede, it'll be us! And just who do you think will be the new Mayor of Midlothian Country Club? That's right, yours truly. Perhaps we'll allow the NW quadrant to join us, but that all depends on weather or not Midlo Dog Walker and WW1 play their cards right. There's a lot of paperwork to be filed, and a lot of petitions to be signed. Perhaps I'll have the two of you knock on doors for me. If you're lucky you'll end up with a job with me in the New Midlothian Country Club Public works dept. When the CC is set free from the burden of subsidizing the rest of the "lower" areas with our village taxes you will see the CC and Murawsky rise again. VIVA El Club! I think the only reason I'm responding to this is because so far, it's the only laugh I got today. ME campaign for YOU??? Never happen!!! I'm True Blue!! As far as Petitions? If I remember correctly, you couldn't even carry your Precint on Election night. In fact, I believe you lost your Precint by a margin of almost 3-1. Play the cards right? I only play Solitaire. And by the way, check your spelling because YOU misspelled your name.GOOFBALL!!!!

midlo guy wrote: I have tried to run all over Midlo and I don't think any of it is all bad. Do you see burnt out houses boarded up? I don't. I will admit I won't run by the apartments east of Pulaski after dark but who would? As for someone slamming the NE quadrant some of the nicest, oldest, most historical houses are there. I will admit I have not seen all of Midlo but I can only go about 2 miles from the house before turning around. THank you midlo guy. I came to Midlo to follow the man I wanted to marry, and he chose a house in the NE quadrant so thereby I ended up here. And I for one take good care of my property. I can't stand the apts, but there's diddly I can do about it.

MidloMom wrote: Okay, overall a positive article, but someone needs to give the "journalist" a clue. The caption for the picture says we have "a mix of houses, with some dating back to the 1900's." Wow, what a shock! Could someone let her know that the 1900's only ended 10 years ago? Then she goes on to describe Hog Wild as "a burger and hot dog joint". Again, a little research on her part would have been nice. Again thank you! The Hog Wild part was pretty irritating, but I also thought if you're going to talk about architecture maybe have a picture that allowed the readers to see a small glimpse of it.

say what wrote: the mayor lives in the N.E. section of town, the majority of homes here are valued at 135-200 grand making it the most affordable. True, my house is over 100 years old, so are my neighbors, but right on the park you can not beat that. People nuy houses they can afford, and when I bought mine (in 2000) for a mere 85,000, it was eyesore, after putting back labor new window doors central air and furnace, new gargage door, all the landscaping (which the previous owners completely neglected (with broken glass and mud all over the front and back yard) on our hands and knees to get it right. After 3 years and about 25,000 invested,(all new copper pipes and new drains aloong with a complete tearout bathroom remodel) which is a bit over the top but the wife wanted it. Now my home is valued at over 170,000, and my mortgage is under $600.00 per month, anybody have a new first home and pay under $600.00 per month on the s/w side? You do the best with what you have I think that is what this town is all about. Of course more expensive newer homes are going to be in better condition, does not take a genious to figure that one out. If you look down my block every home has done work to keep them looking decent and the leafs at this time are only in the street. 1250 sq ft ranch, 2 car attached garage and a lot and a half of prorerty, not right next to my neighbors, so privacy is nice, and riight on Midlo's biggest park for under $600.00 per month? and as far as crime goes, does not just about every part of town have at least one murder or murder invlovement in the last year? the crime rate throughout the city is pretty much even, and a special thanks to Officer Sullivan for his capture of a vandal last week, great job! ' Hear hear say what! Awesome reply. My house was supposedly built in 1932, and even though we paid almost double in 2005 what you did in 2000, we put our work into it as well and improved upon what was here. Sadly your mortgage payment is MUCH less as well, but I agree that the houses on this side are the most affordable.

After refinancing during the housing "boom" at 4.5 percent, the payment fell to 586.00 fixed, great for people who had good credit and already owned a home, but the prices went way out of whack also.

Nobody seems to be talking about the south-east quadrant. I live in that area and I think it's great. I can walk to three bars, a pharmacy, and a 7-11.

I'll take my lower class side streets against the garbage streets you have in the country club. I ran over there a couple times and almost had to call a bulldozer to pull me out of the craters that you guys call potholes. For people with such nice houses those streets are horrible.

We do that so trash like you will make the decision to stay the heck away from the country club. Get a land Rover, and maybe you wouldn't have that problem. Vant afford one? Not my problem. Isn't it good enough for you people in the "quadrants" that are outrageous taxes basically subsidize the rest of the village? I for one, am sick of "spreading the wealth around"

I don't need a land rover to go in to the country club to run. While your in second grade you might want to brush up on your reading comprehension. Beside if I had that kind of money I would be in a corvette not a land rover. Then I'd be really mad about the repair bills.
