City Council Meeting Last Nite 11/10/09

What in God's name did I witness last night? A 3 Ring Circus is an apt description I think. I have come to these meetings on a regular basis and yesterday had to win the award for the number of dropped-jaws, dumb-struck audience and shaking heads along with giggles and rolling eyes. The ringmaster would have to be a Nancy Thompson. This lady without doubt must have either the biggest ego in the world or she was very over-medicated(either with booze or pills). Her performance in front of both the Council and those of us in attendance had to border on the most insulting and the most arrogant I think thos who saw it have ever remembered. She has an axe to grind with the Mayor & most of those sitting on the Council. She was vicious and blatant in her accusations. She showed no hard evidence to back her claims but her own obvious dislike for the Mayor and the Council. She has made a habit of this form of behavior. She has already heavily offended the Mexican community in Blue Island by remarks she made at a Council meeting several weeks ago. Their resentment towards her is quite palatable in our town by the conversations I've had with my Hispanic neighbos. And now this. Terrible.

Sounds like she's trying to divert attention away from her racist remarks episode by coming up with some more bullshit. Ban Nancy Thompson from council meetings?

what would be interesting to see is that the meeting minutes are are actually correct and not a brief summary The paper the forum are more accurate than the paid city staff that holds the position.But both left out the ever evalangical spirit speaking of ms. thompson word per word.Unfortunatly she has missed her calling.. This does not detract the other insults hurled at her last performance She has left welts with her words at the hispanic population.Her name is now synonymous with.

Ms. Nancy Thompson was in great form last night @ the Blue Island city council meeting. She reminds me of Lady Liberty in the most purest sense. This is what we call in some circles holding your elected officials accountable. And I hope the residents of Blue Island do not let up. Nancy never said anything disrespectful about the Mexican community,some of her best friends are Mexicans, and Mexican Americans. This is just the frasor-peloquin team trying desperately and despicably at every opportunity to divide this city.

I am not stating I am in disagreement with her views on the adminstration but her words.Her true colors on the hispanic population and to state she has mexicans and mexican american as friends does NOT make it acceptable. Thats equivalent of stating of use the derogatory "N: word and turn around and say its o.k. to use it because I am black or because I have friends that are black. Yes we live in the land of the free,that comes with many privlages use it don't abuse it.Some of her points are and can be validated some of them have been vocalized in a civil manner prior. Just because you yell that does not make it right.

I think the jaw-dropping began before and ended after Nancy Thompson. City attorney Peter Murphy resigns after only 2 years? Why? Tommy Brown gives back control of the Rec Center? Why? Perhaps Ms.Thompson was right to ask "Mr.Mayor, where is our money?" No one else has had the courage to ask.

Allot of Mexican residents are still waiting for a public apology from Nancy Thompson about her total disrespect for them. The BS about her having friends in the Hispanic community is said with tongue firmly planted in cheek and is a fabrication in her own mind.
All other supposed things she is speaking out about is just her twisted way of masking her total disregard for the Mexicans in Blue Island. She maybe a hero to some but a pariah and a persona non grata to a hell of allot more.
