Greg Anderson is not Hank's or Jim Richmond's first choice, the internal candidate was. The Council made it clear that Anderson was the only candidate they would approve. Drakulich in the Southtown once again has the story all wrong. The Council should approve it 5 - 2 tonight with Richie and Chuck on the wrong side, again.
Actually the story quotes the mayor so its right. And it is Kuspas choice...see thats how it works the mayor gets the appointment and the alderman vote on it. If Kuspa wanted the internal candidate then he would have said so or put that person up for a vote. But who we kidding it didnt matter which way it went your on here to critize and take the opposite view

I'm surprised to say that I'm very impressed with this Council. Looks like they will not be swayed or scared off by the political old boy club network. Good for them and good for the taxpayers of Oak Forest.

if your surpised remember it is probably based on past administrattions. Remember the counsel is basically the same, it is the mayor that changed and helped bring about your pleasently surprised reaction.

Well, I hope that's right. It would mean that the new mayor and council are working together well with the best interests of the people at heart.

There is a time and a place for the Union and the City Council meeting is not one of them. Kaiser and the Teamsters need to butt out because they have no say so in this decision.

The unions do not give a rip about the city being fiscally responsive. The only thing they are worried about is losing out on member dues (i.e. kickbacks for the union leaders).

I think that the Teamster union rep's statement to the council quite interesting... "Stop Spending Money". A wee bit late on Teamster interest in our financial condition. But better late than never. Note to council: Don't forget his profound statement...

Kevin Kaiser couldn't care less about the financial condition of the City. Now he can use the hiring of the new Chief as an excuse for refusing any kind of concessions like furlough days which would save the City money. Dave DeMarco wasn't the right guy to run the department. The Council got it right with Anderson.

Resident apparently doesn't live in the 2nd ward. If he did, and knew Alderman simon he would know that Alderman Simon works tiressly to help his residents and no call for help goes unheeded. I have lived in the 2nd ward for 30 years and have had to call Rich several times, and he took care of my problems every time, my neighbors will tell you the same thing.
Rich, hang in there and don't let negative idiots like Resident effect you in any way. Your residents want you to stay.

What does the Alderman of the 2nd Ward have to do with this appointment? The Mayor stated infacticly that this was his appointment and his choice! 2nd Ward Alderman was not even there to vote on this appointment.

What is the point of bringing up this Alderman about an appointment that he was not even in on the vote?

2nd Ward Adlerman will have his hands full when the council has to meet about budget cuts and raising the levy amounts to meet shortfalls on Revenues and excess spending that is now catching up with this city and all the neighboring towns.

Excess spending could have been curtailed in the last administration, but the seated Council did not concern themselves. Now it is coming back to haunt this city, now we will see how the 30 years of service will help make the deficit go away or will the taxpayers foot the bill again?

Has anyone had the benefit of dealing with Officer Lynch? He needed help from his father inlaw, Duke Christenson to get the job, couldnt pass the test on his own, another fine example of joke forest

You are correct. Lynch later passed the physical, and Duke was fired from the Police and Fire Commission by Richmond, guess for being that stupid.

If memory serves me correctly, Duke drove his car through Nicky's restaurant in Crestwood about 8 or so years back. I also think that he and his wife where arrested in Orland for shop lifting.
