The frasor-peloquin team is finally running on empty! There is not much taxpayer money left to piss away.

Asleep at the Wheel-

Blue Islanders have never heard these names mentioned in city council as potential new businesses-
Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, Chipotle, or CVS.“Everybody would love to have a Trader Joe’s!"

Blue Island could apply to be Class 8 eligible, which provides county incentives on property tax assessments for businesses coming into commercial areas with severe economic stagnation.

If the program is approved by the county, the incentives can be marketed to potential new businesses.

donny and pam need to figure out it is more important than ever to be in tune with the people and businesses in The City of Blue Island and that the "Jobs for Votes Program" and the "employee give back program" irritates the whole community!

This comment is for Jesus, I am on here from time to time, but you are always commenting on everything. Have you or do you go to the town meetings. If not maybe you should get more involved with the community and run for Alderman or some other office.

RCOLA save your breath. jesus is a bombthrower. His mode of comments is like a heckler in the peanut gallery of an Opera. He opens his mouth, or pens it here but everything amounts to NOTHING OF SUBSTANCE.
Ignore him. Besides do you knw how many jesus is here.
Several.

Report: 10 states face looming budget disasters
By JUDY LIN, AP
Calif.-In Arizona, the budget has grown so gloomy that lawmakers are considering mortgaging Capitol buildings. In Michigan, state officials dealing with the nation's highest unemployment rate are slashing spending on schools and health care.
Drastic financial remedies are no longer limited to California, where a historic budget crisis earlier this year grew so bad that state agencies issued IOUs to pay bills.
A study released Wednesday warned that at least nine other big states are also barreling toward economic disaster, raising the likelihood of higher taxes, more government layoffs and deep cuts in services.
The report by the Pew Center on the States found that Arizona, Florida, Illinois, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, Oregon, Rhode Island and Wisconsin are also at grave risk, although Wisconsin officials disputed the findings. Double-digit budget gaps, rising unemployment, high foreclosure rates and built-in budget constraints are the key reasons.

— Illinois, which has run deficits every year since 2001, is facing an $11.7 billion budget gap for its next fiscal year, beginning in July, according to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities. Pew's Government Performance Project ranked Illinois behind only California and Rhode Island for its lack of fiscal management on paying medical bills and pension liabilities.

Gee allot of states in the nation are having a hard time...not just Illinois. So let's see the BIG PICTURE here ok? Blue Island and hundreds of other communities are having hard time trying to make the budget balanced.

The point I was trying to make is that IL is one of those 10 states facing a looming budget disaster. Therefore; it is doubtful the state of IL will step in and bail out Blue Island which has been the subject of years of wasteful spending.

There is nothing to show for money that has been spent; no upgrades to sewers, sidewalks, streets, or bridges which have all come back to bite Blue Island....

Blue Island IOU's..........

Daily Horoscope for December 15

Cancer

You've got high hopes about someone or something today, and you're confident that everything will turn out well. If a positive attitude is a guarantee of a positive outcome then you have nothing to worry about. But is it? There's a chance that you're being far too optimistic, and confusing fantasy with fact. If so, you'll be in for a big disappointment.
