The AA employees will quickly learn if this goes through that any management other than the ones running AA at present isn't always better. In fact they will wonder what the hell they thinking once Parker gets a hold of them. Who in their right mind would think the USAir management team would be better? They are the poster children for how not to merge. Hopefully for the sake of the AA employees, Parker and his bunch learned something from their debacle. Not that the AA employees deserve it though. Yikes what a mess AA is thinking about getting in to.

USAir wasn't the answer before, or now. But when you look at market share and the business traveler, it is the only realistic option out there. jetBlue would only give AA back the routes that were surrendered to them. Frontier is a mess. AAérs are sick of the current team, and yes ousting them out of spite might be short sighted, but where have they taken the company? Short history lesson. Horton left AA to go to AT&T as CFO.. Took over as CEO remade the company and sold it. He returned to AA as CFO, Took over as CEO and remade the company. Next step?

There is a major revenue problem as a stand-alone. You have major synergies with US in key East markets. In the West Market, the PHX hub can synergize its route structure with less domestic and more international. Just wait and see. The Uspa (east and West are about to be exposed right now) in the talks as to how things turn out and how the airline if merged runs.

I would be wary of any outsider who makes a lot of promises when this outsider has an agenda. Parker tried merging with delta and united and this is his last shot at running a major airline. AA can come out as a stand alone carrier and do quite well. The idea of having to be the biggest to survive is greatly overblown. AA has a much larger fleet and route system than airways and has many new aircraft on order. AA has announced some new international routes and with their tie in with BA,along with some slow gradual domestic and international growth will keep AA a major force in the airline business.
Parker has said if the merger does not go through, airways will be fine. The same line of thought should apply to AA.

yes it will be fine, but the airline industry needs this, aa needs this. Delta and Ua don't want this no matter what they say. AA and US, a new powerhouse with BA part of one world and great partner. But I get the politics and the money involved, always follow the money, but the money doesn't make the airline industry stronger,or AA by reducing capacity, and increasing competition among the big boys, while allowing a new group of lcc's to fill the gaps. Merge now and AA will become number 1 again.

AA and real US Air (East) make a great team and US Air imposter (west) can be sold to mid atlantic or messa airline since they are only liability.

jose manuel - LOL.. it'll be a cold day in hell before that ever happen, but KARMA is B**** and I'm sure a lot of EX - TWA employee's who got done bad by AMR would love to see the ACQUIRING Company (US Airways) do just that to AMR employee's stapled... LOL...

but I believe there is a federal law that prevention that from ever happening again... but love your so-called positiveness... I hope attitudes like yours don't make the cut in the new AMR...

You are correct...After the arbitrators bizzare TW/AA ruling a bill was introduced and sat until the DL/NW and UA/CO deals began...Basically it mergers lists...In the event or a new deal it would also override the grandfathering US/HP has.(No wonder Doug is pushing for this..it settles his internal issues)

My name is Jose manuel... soy un mariconn. Soy un scab and that is why i hate working for AA.. Yu see im not AA but i think i am.... i have the same uniform and Gay hat of AA. I make 1300 per month and think im flying a Tiny MD80. everything i say is all crap. I deserve to shut ma pie hole and retreat to this Crappy place i call home in Port Richie Florida.

By the way I am So GAY! I wear wiggs and red pumps with sequins at night! they call me the "gurla from eagle".

PROST - yes I believe the verbiage in Senator Claire McCaskill Bond act is "FAIR and EQUITABLE" which is also a loop hole that a mediator can imply to benefit one company or another...but most likely it will be implemented as D.O.H and won't allow most senior employee's to just bump less Senior US Airways /AMR employee's, unless a position become available via added slots or transfers out of stations.

as for TEAM PARKER - I Truly believe he doesn't care if all the pilots and flight attendants are all under one contract or several... he know's the new AMR will make a profit but also knows that the NEW AMR stands to make substantially a lot more $$$ if all parties involve are all under one contract thus allowing the company to better utilize their company assets/ manpower uniformly.

it's only a matter of time, and one can just hope that all workforce's work together to make strong bilaterally #1 WORLD AIRLINE...
