As a horseman this is exactly why I would never use Lampe. He is too high maintenance and drama. I'm sticking with Diamond W (years of experience). Thank you all for confirming the giant size of his ego. Lampe is an awful vet. I don't recommend him either.

Sarah you need to get over it. He is awesome.
You obviously don't know him on a personal level and it's people like you that keep creeps like this around! Ted Bundy was also smart, successful and yes, handsome. It's the ones that pull the wool over your eyes that you need to fear. Good luck Tina!

I was paying out thousands of dollars to help save my horses life after Matt misdiagnosed him. If Matt would have listened to what I had to say when my horse "began" to have problematic symptoms, then I would have saved a lot of money and my horse wouldn't have been in a life threatening position. It was definitely a wait and see process with him and that didn't help at all, it only worsened the issue. My horse now will have to suffer the rest of his life with certain issues caused by waiting to long to diagnose. My advice, be cautious.....

Sarah you really need help. You really need to get a life. Why are you replying for other peoples messages. Oh or is it that you are Mike as well. So very sad.

There are some of you clients out there that ARE IDIOTS. It is reality. I would not trust any other vet to touch my horses teeth. I have seen first hand how he interacts with his clients and I have personally gotten annoyed at how long he stays and chats with all of yall. You should be thanking him for spending that time with you. He is there to explain things which he does in great detail for all you idiots. And Sharon is an idiot in the office. You should see how they are..common sense seems to be nonexistent.
I'm not using this vet!

Dr. Lampe missed a fracture in my horse's leg and was extremely arrogant and rude in dealing with my family and me. He did not return phone calls. I will only use Dr. White.

ok,
I have read EVERY SINGLE POST. and the sad part is i as a vet tech have worked with vet's that went to school with Dr. Matt. So here's the skinny.
the man spent literally his entire college life in the equine barn. He apparently lives and breathes horses. I have also had opportunity to be around some young horse people who have had EVERY SINGLE QUESTION answered by Dr. Matt. I have a very good friend who owns a barn of some very nice horses including mine who swears by Dr.Matt.
I dont' have a great opinion of the man for reasons of that he had a snotty attitude with me a few years back when he and another trainer felt I was some sort of idiot. Yea, who finally healed the wounds? Me and Dr. Roeber my favorite vet. Yes Dr. Matt may be a greatly educated and versed dr. however, he treated me like crap when things were very bad and didnt't take MY word for knowing MY JOB in regard to wound care and vet. med.
and some of you really need to get over Matt. He is married and he apparently is very happy so unless you have a real horse related reason to not care for him then you should stop behaving like a jilted girl. Diamond W and Dr. Matt can survive in conjunction.
My best advice, try him if you are not happy with your current Vet. HOWEVER, be a smart animal advocate with all your pets and if its a bad dx then GET A SECOND OPINION. It may not be any different but, you can at the least feel like you have made an informed decision and if things are persisting, FOR GODSAKE, CALL ASAP..:)

Dr.Lampe is our vet and he helps us take wonderful care of our 35+ horses.

He is always more than willing to answer any questions and really enjoys teaching the staff about everything-from how to give injecttions to how to read an x-ray.

He has always been courteous and professional to myself and staff as well as our boarders and addresses any concerns we may have.

He goes above and beyond our expectations each and every time.

I have been involved with horses for over 20 years and Dr Lampe is by far one of my favorite vets to work with.

There are some major customer service / courtesy issues with Dr. Lampe. He avoids returning messages, will not answer the phone and does not follow up after appts to check on clients. He also isn't as thorough as he used to be.
In rewsponse: When another vet didn't return my call after nearly a week, Dr. Lampe responded immediately. Just a reminder to folks who have no clue how unbelievably busy a vet's job is... it doesn't end. Day and night. More stress than not. You are correct though in not being satisfied with not getting a return phone call. I personally have not had that issue with Dr. Lampe. He appears to be thorough and honest. He also has compassion. Three absolute "musts" in my book!

Dr. Lampe was always professional, timely, friendly and kind. I cannot understand these negative posts. He is a wonderful vet, and I have always felt my horses were in safe hands.
