There are some major customer service / courtesy issues with Dr. Lampe. He avoids returning messages, will not answer the phone and does not follow up after appts to check on clients. He also isn't as thorough as he used to be.

Matt Lampe has cared for our horses many times over the last few years, and I have never, ever, seen him perform in any way that wasn't warm, professional, responsive, available, and accurate. Day or night.

What's the name of his practice? He seemed to have disappeared. Diamond W tells you "he is no longer with us." His phone numbers are disconnected

Dr. Lampe has cared for my horses for many years, and always with the utmost of professionalism. I have referred him to many of my friends and they also think very highly of him. I have never had or heard any complaints about his level of commitment to equine care. I'm sorry your experience was not as pleasant, but if I have a choice, I will always choose to call Dr. Matt.

Dr. Matt Lampe is terrible. I'm glad a fellow client is speaking up. Diamond W should be celebrating his departure. I found out not long ago from a fellow client that he refers to a bunch of us clients as idiots. They also mentioned how he has called fellow staff members at Diamond W idiots too. I will never use him again nor ever recommend him. There are better equine vets out there.

He was a horrible Vet and I would never ever let him touch one of my horses.
Diamond w, is better off with out him! As far as Lampe starting his own practice it is highly unlikely, unless he can con someone into giving him the money.
As far as his clients and the other vets being idiots......It takes one to know one! It's about time people are putting things together!

There are some of you clients out there that ARE IDIOTS. It is reality. I would not trust any other vet to touch my horses teeth. I have seen first hand how he interacts with his clients and I have personally gotten annoyed at how long he stays and chats with all of yall. You should be thanking him for spending that time with you. He is there to explain things which he does in great detail for all you idiots. And Sharon is an idiot in the office. You should see how they are..common sense seems to be nonexistent.

Just so you know there are not better vets out there. He is the only vet I know that is sooo passionate about it. He takes great pride in his job. He is better off without you as a client and whoever your fellow client is. You dont deserve him. And I feel sorry for your horses. I bet they are crying inside.

I would not recommend Dr. Matt Lampe. My family and I have been in the horse business for many years and Dr. Lampe is a disappointment. He missed an inflammatory situation with my horse. I delivered that message to Diamond W. Dr. Lampe’s reputation is not a good one. One of our farriers described Lampe as opportunistic, arrogant and has difficulty with clients. That was our experience with him as well. Other farriers have said the same. He lacks professionalism and respect.

I wouldn't advise using him either. He missed a fracture in the cannon bone on my horse. He kept telling me it was his ankle and injected it without wanting to xray it. I kept getting dismissed when I voiced my concerns. There are so many excellent equine vets out there, why settle for one that is extremely arrogant, is not professional and is not respectful to clients?

Look up dfwabsoluteequine.com

He is great vet and I have used him for over 5 years and would NEVER use anyone else. I have used him a few times since he went out on his own. He is a great guy and has always been top notch. In my opinion the one that started this thread probably has something to do with Diamond W.

I would never, ever use another vet than Dr. Matt Lampe - he is by far superior to any other equine vet I have ever used. He takes all my calls, questions and concerns. He responds promptly and is a thorough of a vet as I have ever encountered. He is extremely knowledgeable and does his work with a passion that is to be commended. I have since moved to Houston, TX - but Matt is still my vet and always will be.. there are none better!!!

furthermore.. I wouldn't trust a farrier's opinion of my vet.. they are notorious for having a jaded view of vets and are quite poisonous when speaking of them. Be that as it may.. my farrier has never had anything but praise for Matt... shame on you for spouting your poison.. I have seen him provide care for horses to owners who could not afford to pay.. he has worked on my horses on his day off and at all times of the night - even when he wasn't supposed to be working.. Also, I know the ladies in the office make a lot of mistakes - from not dispensing the right medications to billing errors.. They set up an appointment for my mother and wrote the instructions wrong.. fortunately Matt called me to confirm or her mare would have gotten the wrong treatment! After what I've read here.. Matt is definitely better off without you people.. Oh, and his practice is thriving.. under his own money.. no "conning" necessary.. Matt is hugely successful - in all aspects of his business ventures..

Every time I found out that Dr. Matt would be the one answering my emergency call, it was like a thousand pounds was lifted off my back. He has stitched my mare's broken (literally) face up, pumped only-God-knows how much oil through her during her previously routine colic episodes, floated teeth brilliantly, injected hocks with no problems afterwards, etc.

Dr. Matt has been nothing but nice to me. He cares about my horse's well being and I would trust him in any situation. I have heard that he used to be very arrogant, but I ask him about things all the time and have never received a reply that made me feel stupid. I feel like my horse is in good, capable hands whenever he is there. He has gotten out of bed in the middle of the night for my stupid horse and has never, ever been unkind to me or to her.

Anyone who has had an issue with him must either work for a competing practice or have done something to really piss him off.

I suspect he will have no problems operating his own practice.
