This story literally makes me sick at my stomach. What made that stupid cop in fear for his life where he had to shoot her in the back..?! And he couldnt even say he was sorry for doing it.First it was Cisco, and now Lille. Are these cops stupid where they cant read an address,or tell what a dog looks like? From the stories lately, its dangerous to be a dog in Texas.RIP sweet girl.

The officer should face the same charges we would get if we shot a police canine coming at us! He thought it was a "pit bull", yeah right, what "bullsh!t"!! He is definately not competent enough to be a police officer! He can't even respond to the correct address to which he was dispatched. If he is so overwhelmed by a medium sized dog running up to him in a moment of excitement, that he feels he needs to discharge his weapon, then he definately doesn't need to carry a badge or a gun. He recklessly and negligently fired his weapon, ultimately claiming the life of an innocent couples pet. Shame on you!!

Great post and i totally agree.People are outraged over this unnecessary killing of a family pet.And he thought it was a pitbull...what an idiot.

What kind of training does this officer have? He said that he thought that this dog was a pitbull... it was a border collie. And you wonder why some people hate cops. I hope that the City of For Worth loses a lot of money in the lawsuit and that this officer is assigned to traffic duty for a year. What an idiot!

This is a terrible story that makes me sick. Fort Worth has a new mayor. She is known as the Iron Maiden because she is very authoritarian..aka a dictator.

Fort Worth police have become very pushy under her leadership. Now, Fort Worth is installing software to track our cell phones with.

The story was in the papers a few weeks ago. They can even clone your phone and download all the data from your phone to the cloned phone now in the PD's hands.

Fort Worth just installed new spy technology that listens to what citizens are doing outdoors.

The software and towers as well as listening devices installed on poles or buildings are called ShotSpot. Its all about giving the city the most information on citizens.

These devices pinpoint loud noises and or shots fired, fireworks, backfires, or any noise and then the software analyzes the sound and tells the city what the sound is.

In most cases where these devices are used, a contractor is relayed the sound far away and makes a determination as to what the sound was. Then the city is contacted by the contractor.

These contracts for sound identification are very expensive costing upwards of 60,000 dollars per year per square mile.

My reason for mentioning all of this is that the city of Fort Worth is becoming very very harsh and authoritarian. Even the environmental department is acting much like the EPA with its heavy handed-ready to jump all over anyone attitude.

Not long ago Fort Worth was a very laid back town with nice police and a small city government that never wanted to act like a dictatorial regime, but things have really changed.

WE BETTER STOP THIS SOON! Or we will regret letting our elected citizens become tyrants.

Funny how the police shoot thousands of dog in this country every year yet in many states harming a police dog is considered by law equal to harming a police officer.

I agree. If this idiot cant even tell a dog breed from another,he should not be carrying a gun.I have a dog,and these stories are making me think twice about ever calling the police.Just because a dog says 'hello',is not a good reason to shoot her in the back.Such a heartbreaking story.....
