Roanoke TYC unit under scrutiny

The Texas Youth Commission, still reeling from a sex-abuse scandal that the prompted a top-to-bottom housecleaning and the indictment of at least two senior officials, confirmed Wednesday that it is investigating allegations that the superintendent of a Denton County center used two incarcerated teens to perform chores at a staff member's home.
After one of the youths contracted a bad case of poison ivy, officials at the McFadden Ranch in Roanoke doused him with bleach in an attempt to treat the condition, a correctional officer told a legislative panel during a hearing on the youth commission. Read moreFull Story
