Aldi buys land in Mansfield for a grocery store

The discount grocery chain Aldi has selected a site in Mansfield for its 10th Tarrant County -area store.

new sign is up on this corner. The SW corner of the intersection will be getting a 150,000 SF shopping plaza anchored by Kroger. No more shopping @ Target for food!

Are you folks familiar with Aldi's? Apparently not. This will bring down the value of your property. It's like SAV A LOT, all off brand garbage.

ALDI sells about 1400 private label products at discount prices. It aint the kind of grocery store I was hoping for here in Mansfield. I'll go to the remodeled WalMart for staples and have name brand selection.
We need a Central Market or a Market Street in Mansfield. HEB is in Waxahachie, that would be good as well.

Sprouts just opened in Cedar Hill which helps a bit. I've noticed the sign @ Broad & 360 no longer mentions Kroger. It just now says "grocery-anchored development".

I agree - Central Market or HEB would be awesome. Make sure you go to their website and send in feedback suggesting a location in Mansfield.

Aldi store is going in across from Kroger - on the corner of the log housing the fitness center. Not sure why 3 grocer's are needed at that intersection but..

Anyone know for sure what is going to be built at 360 and Broad? I would be opposed to ANY discount piece of crap store like Big Lots or something like that!

This "ALDI" store, I've never heard of. Just looked it up - it's a specialty type grocery store based in Germany.
