ALL ROAN MOUNTAIN BUSINESS OWNERS AND RESIDENTS. We are in the process of taking donations to post a REWARD for any information leading to the arrest of the arsonist in our area! We already have several people that are excited to help. Also, in the process of a holding a town meeting to organize a neighborhood watch. Will let everyone know where and when as soon as possible.

We are all going to have to help each other to find out what is going on or we are NOT going to have a beautiful place to call ROAN MOUNTAIN!!

That is a very good idea. If I had money I would contribute to this reward. Somebody will talk for enough money. Especially kids, and I am guessing kids are the ones setting the majority of the fires.I have a feeling there are going to be some very heart-broken parents when the arsonist or arsonists is discovered. Just think about this for a minute. The majority of the fires are within walking distance of Main Street in Roan Mtn.They probably don't drive and that makes it easier to get away without being seen.I understand kerosene was stolen from behind the church on Main Street. Good to start fires with. Kids in RM are bored and looking for excitement. They can probably see the fires from their home. I think all the fires were not done by the same kids, just mostly the ones in our little town. If it is kids doing this my heart goes out to their parents, but they need to be stopped before someone is hurt. My heart goes out to the ones who have lost properties.

I have a feeling that this will either get much worse or much better in the coming weeks. Mostly because of the publicity and anger coming out now. The person, or people, are either going to get scared and stop for a while or they may be having fun not getting caught and see how long they can go on getting an adrenaline rush off burning others homes and businesses. Personally if I were still there I would be setting TRUSTWORTHY people up around certain abandoned homes and buildings to watch or have cameras installed to watch.

I read in the Avery Post that Brad Johnson is the investigator on this case, maybe he can make an arrest soon. He is probably the best the sheriffs dept has. At least maybe enough pressure can be applied that the perp will decide its time to end his little game.

Yes! I could be wrong. I said that he is probably the best that the CCSD has. Maybe thats not saying much. Especially for the rest of the dept.

Its sad that he may be the best. I hope the ccsd finds this person and I know it takes time but I hope they realize that time is running out. How many more homes need to be destroyed? Or the other people whos property was damaged and did nothing to deserve it. I do hope that if anyone hears of anything to please report what you know. We all need to work together on this even if we dont have the greatest police department.

so why does ccsd think they can solve this? why isn't TBI involved? who has to give the nod? surely the word has made it that far. I know we're the red-headed step-child of the state, but enough is enough. as mentioned earlier, they tax us to death, so i for one would like to see my money at work.

If you will back up and read what I wrote you will see that I said 'IF'it is kids. I did not mention anybodies name and whoever got on here and mentioned Blakes name is the one who should be ashamed because I didn't mention anybodies name. I was guessing it could be kids. But it could also be a grownup that's watching it from their porch. Stop saying I accused someone when I have not mentioned them. Backup and read everything I have put on here carefully before you start saying stuff about me. God Bless You ALL. SORRY YOU WERE MISINFORMED.,

Please backup and read everything I have posted carefully. I have not mentioned anybodies name.Whoever mentioned Blakes name should be ashamed. It was not me and I'm sorry someone was misinformed. I said I was guessing it was kids. It could be a grownup sitting back and watching the fires. Please read carefully before saying things about me. GOD BLESS YOU ALL.

I only said the FIRES were in walking distance of Main Street. I didn't say they lived there.

If it is one individual setting these fires it will be almost impossible for any investigator to solve this. Really the only way they will be caught is if they are caught in the act. Now that being said,if it is a group(2 or more) doing it, eventually someone is going to brag about it and they will have a place to start.(loose lips sink ships) Either way the law of averages will eventually catch up with them and they will be seen doing it. Probably get shot in the act too, because alot of us are fed up with this mess. I just hope that day comes before whoever it is burns somebody up in one of these senseless acts of stupidity.
