Take a tour of a fancy stadium? Play with money? Poisoning grandkids? Please repost more clearly so we can understand. You are from Hampton, right. Looks like Smith needs to invest in the educational system as well.

Elizabethton doesn't need money for football? No all you do is make a call to Dallas and he will wire your football team money. The Vols must have really liked Science Hills new stadium with that nice astroturf. Must have been hard to practice on a stadium named after Steve Spurrier. Didn't come to Elizabethton? They did however come to Carter County's Milligan College. Thank you VOLS. Go Vols!

Are you comparing Hampton to UT? What has steve spurrier got to do with it? Nobody uses "AstroTurf" anymore. Are they taking courses at Milligan? Again, this post is hard to understand. And don't know what it has to do with Hampton.

First off I wanna point out I'm putting my real name with my comment unlike you cowards calling my son a turd! Secondly, the stadium is looking great thanks to the hard work from Mr Bret Jones and his crew painting and other people offering their time and donations to better the facilities for THE KIDS. There is nothing to do with a football position and money being raised for a team. My son is a senior this year and will move on. The new weight room and new uniforms will be used for the future teams. Everything being done is for the KIDS. It's sad to have a few parents want to make things better for these kids only to be trashed like this. Not to mention these are KIDS you are talking about!

Actually, he was a pretty good wide receiver at Avery. Was not going to play quarterback over the guy they had, who is at ASU now. He would have started at qb for Avery this season.

Where do you think money for the school comes from ( football and basketball) not saying it's totally right but it Is true! This was all done with free labor and donated materials to my knowledge ? I may b wrong but I don't think so

I agree totally that's always the way of it those who won't do anything bitch and gripe the most. I for one am very proud of lane and what he has accomplished here at Hampton and very happy to have him here. As far as I know all his teammates love him and that's all that matters he only gets one chance at high school and if he wasn't happy at Avery I think he should have been able to wherever he wanted I'm just glad it was Hampton. Thanks for all your families sacrifices.go dogs!

Agree Greg, and thanks.....HHS has no moneys in the additions nor renovation. Just MUCH sacrificed time, corporate and personal funds and a few donations.....All done, as Amber said, for the Kids!

As for the transfer QB in question, may I say we are pleased to have him and his family here. I also know much of the complaining comes from a school that wishes they had him....maybe then they wouldn't be on their way to an 0-2 start

The ones who want the 6 million dollar stadium...and wants the tax payers to pay for it =(!!! So sad~they are taking away teacher positions and aides to get what they want! I can appreciate Hampton and their parents/helpers donating their time and energy to make their sports for the kids! That teaches the kids to work for what they want and need and NOT TO EXPECT THINGS TO BE HANDED TO THEM WHEN THEY POUT ABOUT WHAT SCIENCE HILL HAS =)Keep up the good work Bulldogs!!!

I'm sorry....regardless if the time and materials were donated or not. The high school is falling apart....and its way to small. They have to have classes in trailers because there isn't enough classroom space in the main building. Hampton will be known as the school with an awesome football stadium...but the school looks like garbage...I think some people need to spend some free time and materials on something that actually make sense....and how many kids get to take advantage of this "facelift" the football players...what about the kids that can't/don't play football? This is the message Hampton High sends...either play football or you are nothing..

Well what is Etown sending to their students~play sports but just get cramed into a class while we spend money on a stadium and make the taxpayers pay for it!!! I personally think EVERY school needs to get back to the basics and ENJOY school and PUT AS MUCH EFFORT INTO TEACHING THE KIDS EDUCATION AND PUT SPORTS SECOND BUT IT SEEMS EVERYONE WANTS THE NEXT JASON WHITTEN!! And HOW MANY kids passed thru the school systems before he made it??? I mean people need to get REAL in the city and the county...I've even heard a parent last year saying that their kid was going to make a good coach I MEAN REALLY~WHAT A LIFE!!!(And I might add this child was only in middle school at the time!!!)
