I have purchased no music since this trial took place. I will not give any money to an association which goes after people in this fashion.

I have not either. I hope this industry chokes on itself for this. What's next? Going after people for making mix cd's? What if I make a mix cd and give it to someone else? Now I have made an illegal copy.

We have a coffee shop in our neighborhood that always closes early in the afternoon. We had agreed with the owner to rent this facility for a private party for my daughter's 16th birthday. The owner backed out when I said there was going to be a local artist at this private party playing his own music. The owner quickly let me know that the recording industry is a bully and that there was no way she was going to allow ANY music in her establishment. For a long time she has not been able to allow a radio to play in her coffee shop. She used to have musicians play their own music from time to time until a recording industry lawyer threatened her saying that she couldn't PROVE the artists only played their own music and that she HAD BETTER purchase a license from him to avoid a lawsuit.

If those selected as jurors flat out refused to convict these lawsuits would go away. Seriously, how is it that RIAA execs can walk the streets without fear of being attacked by an angry mob?
