Boy does everyone have this figured out. A consulting fee to help in an area where they haven't sold vehicles before, WHAT A LINE OF CRAP. We all know the Walsers have years of experience in running dealerships in variuous areas of Minnesota. If you want some good consultation then treat people right, provide a good product and service at a fair price, and people will become repeat customers. There, now where is my consulting fee!!!! The Walsers and Toyota should be ashamed for even participating in this entire farce. I hope the Branierd residents see right through this, do their research and purchase from more reputable dealers.

Isn't only getting paid $750,000 akin to minimum wage for someone like Denny? After the lifestyle he's been accustomed to I would think that only making $750,000 would be humiliating and like hitting bottom, as they say in AA.

The consulting position, the cars, the gas and the insurance are all part of the cost of the sale, which is a sweet deal for the Walser group. Instead of buying blue sky they took care of a few of Denny's needs to get the deal done. Heck it’s done all the time selling businesses.
I know when it comes time to sell my business I am going to push for the same type of deal, they get a little discount on the price and I get good Health insurance rates at the same time as getting a small pay check as a consultant while sipping Jack Cokes beach side in Miami. Oh wait I gotta push those plans out about 20 more years thanks to the Obamanation. Right now I have to focus on keeping our 85 employees busy.
Anyone who files Bankruptcy is crook no matter if it is for $5000 or 700+ million. When you barrow money you are going over your head and putting yourself at risk. Best if you have a plan and something to fall back on when things get rough.
I said 7 years ago if Hecker ever has a hick-up he will sink like a rock. Over consumption, over barrowing become a snowball effect and eventually the ball implodes on itself.
Our whole country is somewhat guilty of this snowball effect. It shows in the foreclosures and Credit Card Debt.
Earn it, save for it and then pay cash for it if you gotta have it. Debt should be used to build a foundation, not a life style.
A discount on the price for a sweet deal for Denny would be illegal. The dealership is not his. He claimed bankruptcy.

Hecker negotiating his sentence with the district attorney--

Hecker: 20 years! Are you kidding me? I can't do that kind of time!

DA: But I've already given you a 5-year rebate, air-conditioning in your cell, and a vanity mirror; 20 years is a good deal!

Hecker: I would have gotten 5 years off for good behavior anyway. How about I serve 7 years?

DA: What!? I'd be embarrassed to take that offer to my manager! Not with those options.

Hecker: Fine! 7 years, the vanity mirror, and no AC!

DA: I'll ask my manager.

5 minutes later...

DA: The best we can do is 10 years with either the AC or the vanity mirror.

Hecker:...Whatever, OKAY! Have it your baby way!!! I'll take the 10 with the vanity mirror.

Who would buy anything from Walser after helping out Denny Hecker? What a bunch of crooks who deserve each other.

I don't understand why this dealership wasn't seized immediately? This man owes a lot of people a lot of money. This isn't a normal bankruptcy filing.

All Walser is going to get out of all of this is a B A D REPUTATION! They will not be able to sell cars up there with all of us knowing their slimy business dealings with DEH. SAD WORLD WE LIVE IN.
You can't polish a turd but Denny sure tried! Gotta give him credit there. All dealers polish turds, it's what they do.

Obamanation??? Maybe you should check with George Bush about the economy he left us all with.

I have, it all started with your boy Billy. The affordable housing act is what started the snowball. How would Bush or anyone look the country in the eye and tell them the direction things are going we are going to implode while it was all so good. You think anyone would have listened.

I listened to a few who said it was too good to be true. I worked my arse off, built this business, paid the debt down to nothing, made it to the Top 5% that pays the 95% and still have a chunk left after avoiding 2 Stock Market Crashes pulling money out just before it happened.

I never dreamed of making the kind of money I have over the last decade even in the Y2K years. I did this because I had a plan, no debit unless it was unavoidable (ie Capital Investments in Buildings and Equipment). I went for 18 months without a paycheck to make this happen living off what I saved from my Paper Route, Lawn Mowing, Baby Sitting and working my way through College. I watched as all of my friends had their $3500+ Mortgages, 2 $500-600 Car payments and seconds on the House Loan to take vacations and buy that boat they gotta have and every little thing under the sun while teaching their kids the art of Debt and over consumption.

Now I am sitting comfortable in a new house debt free on 30 acres with cylinder index approaching 170, the old house that won't sell (its paid for so it aint no big thing) watching the world around me collapse and because I had a plan and now the Obamanation is targeting me to pay those without a plan to get them out of debt. All starts with Billy Boy and Bush was just a captive passenger. Study it with an open mind and you will see.

Guys like Hecker on the "big side" and guys like my neighbors on the "little side" are all the same. Barrow too much on things that depreciate and over consumption. The whole economies capacity was built on Debt over the last 15 years. You cannot fix over consumption with more consumption.

How could anyone, even Bush look America in the eye and say we gotta conserve, save money and reduce personal debt during the big boom based on Credit and debit spending. Good luck with that, even your Messiah wouldn't have a farts chance in the wind of getting that through.

Now in place of the Average American spending money we don't have the Government is doing it.

I struggle sleeping at night trying to figure out how to keep enough business rolling in to support the 85 Families that work here. Sales are off 40-50% YTD.

For anyone that wants some good advise from someone who has planned: hunker down, its going to be a 5-10 year deal to get out of this one with the false bottoms the Government is putting in the economy. Let Capitalism do its thing. One thing has proven itself over the years when this country gets backed in the corner it comes out swinging. But there again this really isn't the same country anymore. Too many foreigners that don't believe in the American Ideal that the original Immigrants did.

God Bless America, I mean God help America.

Daily Horoscope for December 10

Pisces

You should have a lucky break today when fate steps in and takes a hand. For instance, a situation may seem to be heading for disaster when you're suddenly bailed out in ways you would never have imagined. However, this doesn't mean you can take foolish risks in the hope that things will work out all right because there's no guaranteeing that they'll do so automatically.
