Arguing correlation and causation with this group is like explaining quantum mechanics to a Down syndrome 2 yr old that has never heard English. It's not gonna happen. The only thing they are interested in is not only claiming to be superior but now proving it. It's about power, power over the inferior black. Just as their slave owning forefathers. Ok bill ur smarter than every black person, feel better? Oh sorry ur whole race is smarter, better?

Just what would a person with a IQ of 85 be capable of? Wouldn't most have to take low skill jobs that don't pay much?
There is a .6 correlation between IQ and job performance, at best. In some studies focused on higher level jobs such as doctors or lawyers the correlation drops to be as low as .18. probabiities ranged from about .10 to about .70. Also, most studies find that IQ is only a solid predictor of early job performance. My guess from that data would be that a slight majority would likely at least start off with lower skill jobs, but can still work up from there. It's not an absolute. There are plenty of people with high IQ that through circumstances end up stuck in some dead-end low level job for some time. Students take on low skill jobs like that all the time to help pay for either school or their liesure time outside of school.

Mind you, IQ IS statisicaly the best predictor of performance, better than SES, eduction, and other such variables can do on their own... partly because of how many of these variables influence IQ, but it's still not perfect, not even close.

Big list of b.s. do a little research before you post such nonsense. The united negro college fund was caught red handed telling these black invention myths in t.v. commercials.
Dude. Are you talking about the few on the list that don't actualy receive credit for their role in their inventions? For example, Lewis Latimer on the list for inventing the light bulb...:gasp: that's supposed to be Thomas Edison... only, most history books don't mention that Edison didn't invent the bulb himself. In fact, about 3 years before his bulb, H. Maxim (can't remember is 1st name right now.... think it started with an H though.)had created the "incandescent electric lamp". Thomas had a team of his 24 "Edison Principles" Latimer being the only African American member. Latimer had created the method of making the filaments for Maxim's lamps about 3 years before and even supervised the installation of these electric lights in New York and (I think) Philly. Edison, who had been struggling with making proper filaments for his bulbs, brought Latimer in on the project. While I'm sure Edison would have been able to figure it out for himself eventually, Latimer is the one who did it. In a sense, we might not have gotten Edison's "Incandescent electric light bulb" without him... at least not at the time we did... someone would've done it eventually, I'm sure.

Anyway, it doesn't change the fact that his genious happened under the supervision and through the resources of others so the patents are in their names instead... He did get to co-author a book on the "incandescent electric light" though... so that's something.

I think I get what you were talking about though. There are a couple on this list like Latimer, who the black college fund feel should get credit for their star roles in these inventions, but don't get much if any credit in school history books, since the patent comes up in someone else's name, people like Edison who just had an idea and then turned to his team of draftsman and engineers to do everything it takes to make the idea work. But by that logic, we should bring up the other 23 team members and what contributions they made to the design. However, this doesn't make the list BS. If you research into historical journals on Academic Search Premiere, you'll find information supporting everyone on that list.

ooh not to say Edison was some kind of hack or something... dude was genious and even worked alongside his team. Dude loved dabbling with lots of different things... However he was also known for infriging upon other patents... though he's been infringed upon himself lol.

Aww but it's fun trying to remember information that I've studied in the past that I probably would never touch on otherwise. It's been 7 years since that time I obsessed and studied IQ and I've been RELLY proud of myself for managing to remember so many stats and studies! Not to mention I haven't even thought about any specific black mathematicians or inventors in at least 5 years and I can still remember so names... and seeing that list earlier reminded me of so many more details that I had left in the back of my mind. I even go out on a limb on this one, since I'm so confident in my memory that I don't fact check myself until after I post, and if I see something I get wrong I wait to see if any of them notice... so far there was at least one mistake that I caught that noone's pointed out yet. XD It's fun and a good mental workout sometimes. you should try it.:)

Was fun for awhile but give it another 500 posts or do and you'll realize the arguement never advances. Even given irrefutable evidence the 3 or 4 diehards on here will never admit to hm or those they support ever being wrong. Sad really, when one refuses to learn or believe what is starring them right in the face.

So now the retarded are fair game? OK then 1/4 of the black population has an IQ of 75 or lower. That is the beginning of mental retardation 75.

I know making extreme comparisons is a new concept for you. I didnt call anyone retarded. i said trying to reason with the likes of you is LIKE explaining quantum mechanics to a 2yr old with down syndrome that doesnt know english. Lets see all you saw was "retarded" you pretty much prove my case with every post. Would it matter if a 2yr old that speaks no english has down syndrome or not when it comes to learning quantum mechanics? wouldnt the age or language barrior also stop them from learning it? Since you dont understand the anology let me just say it simple for your oh so high iq. You and the other 2 or 3 racist, non intellectual, xenophobes can't admit being wrong nor anyone of your ilk of being wrong and everything that is wrong can be blamed on liberals, the poor and the black. Like I said bill you are superior to all blacks. All hail big brain bill. Hope he comes and shows us know nothing negros something that we can understand.

Btw see the difference you actually called 1/4 of the black population "retarded". I didn't call anyone "retarded".

Have any sources to back that up?

Lol Well Fox News is a simplistic channel. They like to oversimplify their news on many occasions and tend to be far less rational about the information while they're at it. To me, most other news channels aren't much better though. XD
LOL- the typical liberal response- Fox doesn't simplify the news- it presents it without liberal bias.

Guess you can't handle that fact too well

Whenthey don't simplify, they dramatize.... sometimes they do both. I have yet to watch fox news and see just straight facts... in fact I've yet to watch any news channel and see just straight facts. Fox oversimplifies and/or dramatizes a lot, msnbc dramatizes even more sometimes, abc, CNN is often full of useless fluff and often forgets to fact check their resources... I get so frustrated watching the news that I just stick to reading 4 or 5 different news sites whenever a piece of information is actually of interest to me.

I forgot to write my comment on abc.... it's crappy, unreliable, and dramatized at some points, fluffed in others... it's just not a good news channel.

Nah... I just don't have the patience to try and interpret the truth amidst all of the garbage and fluff sometimes. Sometimes I'll do it when I just don't care enough to research properly, but half the time whatever i see on any news station is either exaggerated, fluffed, or dramatized.... that or it's a whole lot of nothing...

The last 2 times I watched the news to find out about a major event/ crisis it's been pretty much the same. "oh this thing happened and we're here at the scene waiting for more information." :2 hours later: "Hey, random stranger we just saw walking by and likely has no clue what's happening, what do you think is happening in there?" :another 3 hours: "Resources have confirmed that X, Y, and Z happened." The next day... "Oh that thing we said yesterday, that was completely wrong. What really happened was... Uh... well... I don't know exactly what happened or what's happening, but the government blah blah blah" Ok! I get it, you've got nothing! Report on something else while you're waiting for useful info and stop wasting air time. Losers... At the very least fact check your useless ramblings instead of just repeating everything you hear as soon as you hear it like it's legitimate news.

For the record, I'm complaining about how CNN has done that a lot more lately... every station is guilty of it every now and then, but CNN has just been awful lately. For a couple years they were my go to when I only had a tv to look at... then I'd just fact check them online later. For a while, though they still fluffed and dramatized a bit, they weren't QUITE as bad as other news channels... and they were at least a little easier to fact check... lately it's like they're so busy trying to be the first to tell people something that they stopped caring about it being factual...

And I could go for days on Fox News. I don't turn to their channel often anymore... i used to when I was curious to hear what they have to say, but it's always something like "Boohoo republicans are being targeted by EVERYONE else.(Some people DO target republicans... Some target democrats in some situations too... but it's not that big a deal.)Every time the government makes a decision they're infringing upon my rights! Everyone who diverges from our set norms are automatically perverse, wicked, or wrong.:Enter exaggerated term meant for scaring people here:" They take situations that probably could be concerning, but are not catastrophes, and talk about it like it's some kind of apocalypse. They also fill in a lot of time with useless gossip and try to make OPINIONS out to be factual statements.

Just in general... GOD I really hate watching the news on tv lately... so busy trying to be first, or more entertaining, or so busy trying to appeal to their main demographic... I just wish even a single news station was able to look at all sides of a situation and analyze them properly, bring in experts, and take their time! I know everyone expects everything immediately, but good journalism and news takes time and effort and everyone seems to forget that!

You, sir, need a history lesson... Why do you think places like Zimbabwe no longer export? Do yourself a favor and LOOK at what happened in places like Rhodesia... READ about what Mr. Cecil Rhodes and his fellow colonists did in southern Africa. Ever hear the term "the rape of Africa"... do you know what this was referring to?

No they just care about the wrong facts... it IS a fact that Zimbabwe used to export a lot and now does not... but he's not looking at the context surrounding it... he's just focusing in on one part, causing misrepresentation of the situation. It's a basic bias common to any political debate. I just play by part in the debate by pointing this out... Besides... even if HE doesn't listen to reason, I'm sure someone else with proper reasoning may read these threads and I hope that my contribution to this thread will be at least somewhat helpful to them...

Also I'm having fun. lol
