Wow. Only 30 days in jail for a DUI and he tested positive for cocaine and marijuana. My buddy did 6 months for his DUI and he isn't a junkie. But then again my buddy is black, maybe thats why he served more jail time.

I do not care if he is a son of Tony Peraica. What does that have to do with his DUI. Glad that he is getting jail time, and no free pass.

I can't help but think that if Daddy were a democrat in cook county would he spend a day in the cook county lock-up. Not likely! A piece of advice to young Peraica...act a little crazy, keep the "boyz" wondering if and when you're going to just go off. Unfortunately, years ago I spent a little time as a guest of the state and that's how I survived. I'm a short but stocky white guy and I went after the first guy that messed with me in Joliet, acted a little nuts and I was left alone. Spent a lot of time in Seg (the hole) but kept my virginity...so to speak! Good luck to ya lad!

Actually, the liberal media gave less attention to Richie Daley's soldier son's drunken criminality and even less to Richie Daley's nephew's ripoffs of the Cook County taxpayers.

Actually, with no injuries and a mere sideswipe of a car, this kid would have gotten probation, had it not been for his high profile.

Your buddy didn't live in Chicago. There is no way someone did 60 days in Cook County for a single DUI unless it resulted in a fatality. Then he might get 60 days.

It's amazing, that even from Iraq we still are able to see ignorance in it's purest form..YOU. At least Mr Obama had the courage to ADMIT his misgivings. Let's not cast stones, because if someone was to investigate your life..What would be found?

your friend did not go to jail on a first offense DUI with nothing else going on.Quit the race thing, give me his name and the state and we will look up exactly what happened...or how many priors he had before going to jail for six months.

Didn't the kid learn ANYTHING from the old man? If you're gonna get hammered and act like a moron, you're supposed to MARCH in the streets, not drive. He was found guilty over 5 months ago, tested positive for coke AND pot during a required pre-sentencing hearing KNOWING he had a court date, and he STILL hasn't been fired? How did he get hired in the first place if he has a "lengthy" history of arrests? Don't they do background checks? What a two-face hypocrite the old man is too; wanted to lay off hundreds of workers who actually need their job while this junkie sits there collecting a check. Disgusting.

Right. There must be something else here. Nobody gets 30 days on a first time offense where no one is injured. I don't care who you are.

Apparently the judge doesn't like the father. NO ONE gets 30 days for a first time DUI - NO ONE.

Of course, if one were to do even the slightest bit of background reading on this low life, nunya, one would discover the following:

"Marko Peraica, 27, has a lengthy history of arrests for burglary, curfew violations and other charges. Since his arrest on this DUI charge, he has tested positive for cocaine and marijuana, officials said." - Sun-Times

This is totally what should happen for an offense like this, but, the reason it did happened is political.
