After reading the article. This is a no-brainer. Let's see GEORGE SCHLEYER who is going watch these clowns in the village hall and get in Chucks face when necessary. Or LYNN BARKER who is looking forward to working with Chuck and doing whatever Grove and Davies tell her to do. HMMMMM. If george doesn't smoke these guys in a landslide the ridge deserves everything they get here on out. Wake up people bullet vote GEORGE SCHLEYER, AMANDA CARDIN, AND SALLY DURKIN and save our town!!!!!!!!!!1
i don't understand what all mighty power you think the clerk wields. They have no voting power. So how any clerk could be led around by other trustees is ridiculous. Sounds to me like the job is more clerical doesn't involve bakery goods.

So the Contract that Bruce and Brad never saw said that Tim could have a full pension no questions asked at 42 instead of a disability- reduced pension for getting hurt on the job? What did they say about it when they did find out about it? Guess you forgot that Bruce was on the Board since before the 1999 election. Guess you are just trying to cover for your favorite know-it-all who wanted Tim out no matter what it cost the Village.

Remember when Barker was president of the school board and she wanted to pay for Baldermann's education to become a school superintendent.Tax payers got wind of this and went to the meeting and the idea was dropped. We cannot afford this administration

The Village Board had to vote on numbers - vacation pay is not a component of pension calculations. Explain to me how you think that 8 years ago someone could have decided to pay someone unused vacation in a pension when it clearly it not allowable.

The electric consultant hired by Chicago Ridge was Bob Streit - yes, the same Bob Streit that is being investigated by the feds in Oak Lawn - goggle it - he is a good friend of Davies and Grove and he was awarded the contract to buy electric for the Village of Chicago Ridge and he made some good money doing it. Google the story about Grove, Davies and Streit renting a bus to go to Springfield - how did that work out.

All of this can be found in newspapers - the pension, Bob Striet, the Springfield Trip - too bad more people don't spend time trying to find things out - these guys are breaking the Taxpayers back...

Okay we have the big white sighns now and they look okay except where they are a little blown over. The small ones have different printing and it looks like people are hiding the trustees names and just showing Chuck and Lynn so it is okay if the big ones lean over a little because at least they show everybody and nobody can change that around. We won't look like big time winners if people can change the sighns around so that some of us are in the back. It looks a little confusing when people have red and green and blue sighns all in the same place because then no one can tell if we are the big time winners. When is the sighn guy getting back from Belize? Is he going back to Florida then or is he going to take care of the sighns? Because the retired guy is a little...well he is a little slow taking care of the sighns. We need a the big tan boy to come back from Belize. Maybe we would be able to really get some sighn work done. We can bury those independents with sighns. We'll show em

Didn't the 127.5 school board offer him a job/internship to go along with the tuition of the Superintendent program? This merits a little research. Everybody knows that President Lynnie only did what Big Brad told her. So she was either doing a little unauthorized swooning for Tim or she was making the statement loud and clear that double dipping was okay with Brad, her and the rest of the crew. How in the hell would that guy have been Mayor of New Lenox, Chicago Ridge Police Chief, candidate for Congress, college student, 127.5 employee and everything that goes along with those roles? Who would look at that mess and say "oh yeah sure we can pay for that?"

We need more SIGHNS. Not the two-faced sighns like everybody is calling them. No one should think we are two-faced. When elections come we say how long we have been in politics and we put Gene's name on stuff and we get elected. That is not complicated. But this crap of all those other sighns out there has got to stop. IT IS CLOBBERING TIME. We don't need to talk about trustees with their houses for sale or ridiculous pension deals or out of control employees that get in the headlines. We just need to put our SIGHNS out there. 3 or 4 or 5 on a yard. Who is in charge of our SIGHS? Get Gary S. over here and get him working. He owes us plenty.

Baldylocks came to board to have them foot his internship, which in turn he would then write grants, help out etc. for school this is something that happens in all districts this wasn't just "set up" for Baldy. He had several feelers out to various districts for similar set ups and he came back to Barker board and said I got another offer at another district. There was no Rallying of troops or public outcry at a meeting -- the deal just ended at baldy's request.

Lynn Barker thought it was a good idea for Chicago Ridge residents to pay for Baldermans'education in another career. The people got wind of this asked questions at the meeting and baldy dropped his request.

The Village Board Reform ordinance for 2012
1. No village board Pension for trustees.
A trustee collects a salary while in office and receives no
pay when they're out of office.
2. Trustees can purchase their own retirement plan, just as all
Chicago Ridge residents do.
4. Trustees will no longer vote themselves a pay raise.
Raises will take place by referendum or pay else rise by the lower of CPI or 3%.
5. Trustees lose access to the health care plan.
6. Trustees must equally abide by all laws they impose on the
Village residents. No special attention for anything.
7. All contracts with past and present trustees are void
effective 1/1/12. The village residents did not make this
contract with them.
Trustees made all these contracts for themselves. Serving on
the village board, not a career, the Founding Fathers
envisioned having citizen legislators on every government board, so ours should serve their term(s), then go away. Putting your ego in front of the village is irresponsible.

That's right, we said it. Another TIF. More small Condos and apartments. Low rent shopping mall. We know how to do business because we have businesses. Then we can get back to vacations, giving our friends jobs and contracts. It worked for Siegel and it will work for us. Who cares what Mike thinks. That little twerp is a disgrace. He can't keep his wife in line like we can. Women don't belong. And now who has more sighns? We are winning with sighns. Another round Larry.

Just because your Village government is posturing before election does not mean they are being proactive.

These politicians, this Village Board are just hungry for votes and power and that is it.

If your elected officials were doing a good job and protecting the citizens that is fine.

This Board has done a horrible job the past three years. Do not fall for false prophets. Vote in new leadership

Was big bad brad actually telling voters that it was okay not to vote for his next door neighbor Jim Saunoris? Did he actually tell people not to vote for his Dad's pal Jim to save his own rather large and yellow rear end? Now that is leadership for you.

Chicago Ridge has become the Village where everything is for sale. All you have to do is to accept a couple of partners that are connected to Village Board Members. This technique was perfected by Al Capone. Look at the utilities deals that the Board has cut. Look at the retirement deals and the professional services contracts the Village has. Look who gets appointed to the different boards and commissions. Look who gets the part-time jobs and who gets fired. Look who gets the campaign contributions and who “pays” the contributions. When vendors and attorneys and other contractors can raise their rates to the Village at will, don’t you think it is because of the contributions that they have delivered to the Village Board? You know, they paid the cost of doing business. So when Brad Grove says in the newspaper,“I look at things beyond the bottom line,” when he is negotiating contracts for the Village, you know what he really means. He takes care of those that take care of him. Don't take care of him this time. Find someone else who deserves your vote. Enough already

The only answer is to vote staight independent on april 9. George, Amanda, and Sally. Non of which have any financial ties to this town. Hard working honest people who will care about the taxpayers not their wallet. Not one of the Inaction party deserves our vote.
