Is it true that the library will be closing. Someone said there is no money and they need to redevelop that area.

It's a teeny building. I am not surprised. There's a new Chicago library being built on Cornelia west of Harlem, which should be close by, right?

Maybe they can donate the books to triton! Triton has books form the 60's and 70's. So many old old books!

No big loss. We call it the River Grove Public Nursing home. The ladies there are all elderly and are not pleasant. They are not knowledgeable. When you ask them a question, they never know the answer. They dont know anything about how computers work. Also when you call and ask a question, and you think they dont understand and repeat your question, they get defensive. They dont know anything about how the lending system works. It would be an ok library if they would only replace the staff at the front desk. oh and then when you are sitting there using a computer, they are at the desk trashing each other.. Really unprofessional.

I called the river grove library to find out if I could request books from the triton library on the library system as far as lending and sharing libraries. I had to run errands for my son with broken pelvis and I did not want to go to Triton to save time. You would think the lady who answered would know if Triton was on the sharing system. She told me I had to come in and check for myself on the computer. She had access to the computer and I am sure there is a list of all the sharing libraries. I was shocked. I found that hard to believe and acceptable. Not very helpful and unprofessional for a library.

The river grove library isnt so bad. The computers are great. They have nice computers. The ladies are ok. I think it is mostly geared aas a young childrens library and for computers. I dont know why they are closing.. a lot of people go there.

I found the books to be old and outdated at River Grove LIbrary. Also books cater to either the very young or the elderly. Nothing in between. But mostly old.. like no one goes and updates the books on shelf.

I did not hear anything about it closing. I think that is untrue.. unless with the economy bing so bad..I heard a lot of libraries in U>S> closing down. But not heard about River Grove. When I go there, it is empty a lot. I thought they gonna build new library by railroad tracks.. guess no money..

The library is in a toxic building. I noticed the tile coming off the floor. It is a tile that was installed in the sixties... which in those days were all made of asbestos. They should really check that building out. Also heard they had mice running around in the childrens section.

They should close the library in Melrose Park also because most of the people there are illiterate and just go there to look at the pictures in the magazines.

wow... if I were one of those librarians, I would really be concerned about my health if the tiles there at the library are asbestos. for sure,,I think OSHA should be contacted.
