Open Call Auditions for WEST SIDE STORY in Riverside
Performance Riverside announces open call auditions for union and non-union dancer/singers for their upcoming musical production of West Side Story. The production is directed by Gary Krinke, choreographed by Orlando Alexander, and musically directed by Allen Everman. Auditions will be held on Monday, July 23, 2007 at 6:30pm on the campus of Riverside City College, at the Huntley Gym Dance Studio, Room 102. Performance pay available.
For singing auditions, please prepare 32-bars of a number and bring sheet music in the correct key. Equity actors will be auditioned using union procedures. Piano accompaniment will be provided for all. Wear attire appropriate for a dance/movement audition. All persons who audition must bring a resume, headshot and a biography with them.
West Side Story is performed on September 14, 15, 16, 21, 22, and 23 at Landis Performing Arts Center. Come prepared to list any conflicts you have with the rehearsal schedule.

RIFF - Quick-tempered leader of the Jets. Baritone.
THE JETS - Action, A-Rab, Baby John, Snowboy, Big Deal, Diesel, Gee-Tar, Mouthpiece and Tiger.
THE JETS' GIRLS - Graziella, Velma, Minnie, Clarice, Pauline, and Anybodys, a tagalong tomboy.
BERNARDO - Maria's brother, leader of the Sharks.
MARIA - Puerto Rican ingénue. Bernardo's sister. Soprano.
ANITA - Maria's saucy older friend. Bernardo's girl. Mezzo-Soprano.
CHINO - Maria's angry young suitor. Bernardo's friend.
THE SHARKS - Pepe, Indio, Luis, Anxious, Nibbles, Juano, Toro, Moose.
THE SHARKS' GIRLS - Rosalia-Anita's foil in "America", Consuelo, Teresita, Francisca, Estella and Margarita.
DOC - A weary old candy store owner.
DETECTIVE SCHRANK – Male character adult.
OFFICER KRUPKE - A cop. Male character adult.
GLAD HAND - A fidgety chaperone. Male character adult.
The part of Tony has already been cast.
