Sorry about the death. Why a law suite. Everyone is the country is law suite happy. Why? Caltrans was doing nothing wrong. They do these all the time. The young man was driving alone in the carpool lane. I do not see caltrans suing his family for breaking the law. It is a tragic loss and I pray for the family, but enough suing already.

What happened to Christian honesty? Caltrans should not be sued - Speeding was the problem - why do they want to blame someone else for his irresponsible driving? This doesn't make sense - except someone wants money.

why are they suing? Because the Laurie's want Caltrans to pay for the raising of Christopher Lauries two children and because Greg Laure is a hypocrite.

Of course- it was clearly his fault - being in an HOV lane with one occupant is breaking the law. Thank God that he didnt have another occupant because then the occupant would have lost their life.

People are so sue happy these days. Obviously they never considered buying life insurance for the payout - no that would cost too much, just sue some one with deep pockets (tax dollars of course) to get compensated for there supid acts

Actually, the report is that a 'complaint has been filed', not a lawsuit. These are different from each other. Since there has not been time for the attorney (and family) to review the report, this will permit time for that review to take place. A complaint, according to the article, must be filed within 6 months in order to leave the door open for a lawsuit at a later date, should the report reveal anything we do not already know about this accident. I am not an attorney, I'm just reading the article like everyone else. This is good advocacy on his part, even though a lawsuit may never be filed. If this period for review of the report turns up as the news articles seem to have reported it, I strongly suspect the Laurie family will not permit a lawsuit to go forward.

You will also be judged so you shouldn't be jealous of where people live.
