<quoted text> I DID work there and, never in my life expected to sleep until noon. CVS wants you to work for minimum salary without training (which I did complain about), and then reprimand you if you can't do something you were never taught. Unemployment certainly agreed with me, even though I QUIT after six long weeks and a near breakdown. BTW, I've been working since I could deliver papers, also raised 5 children, took care of both ailing parents and an aunt with dementia, so I'm not a person that expects too much....just RESPECT.
I'm so proud of you for keeping going. It says a lot about your strength of character.

I work at a cvs in illinois. I find that with our pharmacy staff it's convenient for them to stand around and walk around the store while I'm busting my ass putting away items because I'm just a cashier, and I only have a customer every 2 seconds. Honestly people, I don't want to hear any crap about how your order was late and what not, I bust my ass at work, most of the time by myself in the front, trying to put away items, and help customers every two seconds, so excuse me if I'm just a little ticked off when I get to the counter to answer you're stupid question or ring you up when I have other things to be doing. Cvs is a waste of my time. If any of you are going to apply at cvs, don't it's not worth the time. I work maybe 5-10 hours when he needs me, sometimes more, and I'm getting paid 9.00 an hour. Having said that I'm lucky if my check is even 75 dollars. Store manager takes all the hours for himself, while I get none.
Store managers are on salary..Therefore his hours are not reflected in the total front store hours allocated by your district manager

When did that change? When I worked there, they counted. And we were given just enough hours to have 1 person in the store from open to close with no overlap. No coverage for required lunchbreaks, so you had to clock out but keep working. But that 30-minutes off the clock did allow for the day employee to tell the night employee what was going on.

If anyone forgot to clock out for lunch, someone had to take a vacation day for a day they worked, just to keep things within the budget.

I worked for cvs as a Manager for year. The facts are that the company works everyone entirely to hard until they cant produce anymore. After such a time they will find petty reasons to write people up in order to fire them.
The company will get people to quit or get fired in a way that they wont be responsible for unemployment.
Treatment of employees is poor at best. Workplace morale is low starting from the ceo one down to the cashier checking you out.
Just a tip (go work and sbop elsewhere).
Exactly!!! Any word on a lawsuit yet?

When was the last time you actually went job hunting? Adults with college degrees can't even get hired at McDonalds in my town, much less "wherever you want." I'd say that was ONLY the case in my town, but from what I see in National news outlets, it's not limited to just one city.

I would suggest you move, the oil companies can't get enough help in places like North and South Dakota. The recent criminal activity and murders in Las Vegas indicate your city has allowed the thugs to take it over. Thug cities are hurting look at Detroit as an example. Don't look for help from the current occupier of the WH, he courts the thug votes like the black panthers. Bless your little heart.

Management hrs are part of the budget they give you. Cvs is just a fuk up place to Work dont get me wrong it was good when they Came down to Cali in the 2000s. Now that they are taking over the US they expect alot with no help cutting your hrs then Dm and AVP coming down to talk crap to on how ur store is not up to standard. Open with one cashier one mid shit and two closers that's ur schedule for $80,000+ store. Not counting all the cráp of managent duties you have to do if you want to call it a manager job. LETS SAY IM HOURLY NOW i get paid for 45hrs AS OF FEBRUARY DO ALL THAT CRAP WE GOTTA DEAL WITH ON THE DAY to day BASIS. So now my boss excuse is my store is not presentable but yet I clock in and out get pay for my 45 hrs. Shit don't get done with those hrs then u do ot then they come around saying u can't operate a store because u spending too much time. They would not say that when I was salary. MANAGERS WATCH U WILL ALL GO HOURLY IN THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.

I worked for CVS for 6 years as a supervisor and the pay was horrible and they mistreat their employees. I worked my way up from cashier to supervisor in nine months. I worked 40 plus hours a week and my pay checks were pitiful. I made about the same amount as the cashiers. My boiling point was finding out that the other supervisors that came in after me and looked different from me made at least four dollars more then me, that was it. CVS needs to pay their employees better, especially if they are dedicated and hard working. CVS is the worst company to work for. They expect you to bend over backwards, but they are not willing to help their employees. I wouldn't usually write something like this, but I had to say something. Just because I'm not a certain way doesn't mean I deserve to be paid less. Also the pharmacy staff is f___king horrible. I don't understand how you can call a prescription in and it still isn't ready in four hours. I hope CVS GOES OUT OF BUSINESS, you greedy, blood sucking, unfair, bastards! WORST COMPANY EVER! Oh and most of the upper management is racist. Say what you want I've experienced it first hand. Not just assuming things, this something I had to deal with the whole time I worked there. I F___KING HATE THIS COMPANY!

You do know the N-word means ignorant right? So in this instance you're the N Word. You do realize that God made all people including white, black, Hispanic, Asian, etc. No race is more superior then the other. I wish you'd take a hard look around you because every race has it's good and bad. There are lazy people in each race. I can not stand to hear such ignorance. All of you people who feel this way should all go to Antarctica and leave the rest of us alone in peace. I already know for a fact that you are going to try to come back with some type of an insult, so just save it because anything that you write is going to be ignorant and assuming. I'm sure you don't know any black people so you feel the need to judge. Most of the time people like you used to get beat up all the time or your parents did not raise you well enough to understand the importance of differences in people. Grow up and get some real intelligence, small minded people breed small minded thoughts.

Cvs is a bad place to work for don't waste your time and look for another company. Pay nothing and ask a lot from you, you have no respect from your supervisor ,,,,The Pharmacist don't care about people and does nothing but change her mind about company regulations, employment treatment is bad, favoritism is bad in this company.
The pay was ok when I started, but a 21 cent raise after a year doesn't seem to go too far.
I had no respect there. My boss took things out on me and transfered me to the pharmacy when she got "fed up" with me. The pharmacy was worse, apparently there, "tech training" means having someone read all the manuals and then not teach anything.
The popular pharmacist there was full of herself, and made tons of mistakes. And don't take it out on the techs when you hand a bag to her and tell her to ring it up and then the customer comes back or calls and says it's the wrong person's medication. It's the pharmacist's job to check them, it's the tech's job to get them from the bins and ring them up. And as for the lead tech, your job is to TRAIN new techs so the old ones can move on and new people can be hired. People tend to lose patience when the trainer is a bad teacher and refuses to do her job. And when you wirte someone up for trying to sell needles when she has asked twice for you to help a customer who wants to purchase them and she has to go to where they are to look for them and then has to ask the pharmacist because you are ignoring her, you'd better pray that the employee doesn't come to the drive up window and ask for you just so she can spit on you. Also, it takes a really stupid person to call someone else stupid when she is standing right there. And it is really rude when the former employee who has transfered to another store comes in to that store, which is closer to home, to fill a prescription and is asked by the lead tech "Why don't you get prescriptions filled at your own store?" Former employee or not, anyone who comes into a store where they are not employed are customers, and deserve the same respect as customers who don't work for the company at all. If she thinks I am a jerk for reporting her, I only did it because she said that without thinking at all. My coworkers were idiots, world of warcraft weirdos, jerks, and psychos.
As for the environment, I would have to say it was boring, repetitive, cold, unhappy, and cruel. I couldn't afford to pay bills sometimes because my hours were constantly cut. I always got the night hours, which caused me to sleep until noon during the day and then have to go back for more torture. Luckily I got a transfer to a store where I get treated better by my boss and most of my coworkers.
Last and not least we never got to take our breaks and lunches !!!!
CVS is the worst place in the world to work.
Worst place to work? You haven't had many jobs have you? What you're really saying is you hate your coworkers and boss at the CVS where you work. So quit....

And world of warcraft is awesome.

This is what I hate about working for this company.
If you're sick, and you call out, but no one can cover your shift, you're expected to come in even when you're sick.
I've never heard of something so ridiculous and unethical.
People get sick.
Things come up.
CVS needs to realize that we have lives.
I can't wait to find a better job so I can leave CVS for good.

I would suggest you seek employment elsewhere. Acquire skills to prevent anyone treating you as you have charged.
If you remain at this place you must place the blame where it belongs, on yourself. We are free to work where our skills allow us, good luck. Bless your little heart.

Good Lord! That creepy little sofa freakazoid really is into Lighteredknot isn’t he? I swear, Lightered could go to the moon and as he was landing, he’d look out the portal and see the sofa shlepper looking in at him with moony eyes. Too bad Lightered holds the freak in such contempt. He could make a fortune if he went out and bought one of those portable street organs, put a leash on the freak, dressed him in a cute little cap, gave him a tin cup to hold in his hairy little hand, and set up at a bus station or subway entrance. He could clean up. Everybody should have their own trained circus monkey on a leash. Dance Cali monkey! Dance!
