Had to comment on the latest comments of Dr.Ben Carson,I must admit I was very shocked by what he said, considering the fact that he grew up on the worst side of Detroit receiving welfare and public assistance after his baptist preacher dad left his mother. Without the social assistance, public school, affirmative action Ben probably would not be a Dr. today ! But that's what happens to a lot of people once they attain a certain economic status in life. They turn their backs on where they came from and instead of looking back to Detroit and helping kids from the old neighborhood he tells them they do not need healthcare its like slavery !! WoW (The old I got mine now you get yours mentality ) The Bible said prosperity ruins a fool !

Just goes to show you that public assistance is a leg up, not a cradle to grave handout.

It sounds more like he applied the programs as they were meant to be, TEMPORARY. He's no longer on them. How many black Americans can say that? About 50%. Now THAT is a shame!
