I'm attending Abrams College now and I really do not like it. I think I made a big mistake coming here. The classes stink and the teacher I have is very goofy. I feel like I'm not learning as much as I should. I would have been happier at MJC. If anyone else is considering taking classes here....PLEASE DO NOT MAKE A BIG MISTAKE!! Seriously!!

I enjoyed the course. People are getting hella crazy about Daniel lucky when in all actuality he helped me out tremendously i don't see your problem? I give props to Dave dr lucky and the lady's in the office. There doing there best. Dr lucky is a highly educated doctor. Did you know that dr lucky runs a separate volunteer clinic for low income family's? For children and people in need! He pays for all the meds ect they need! You say he's "a money hungry bag of skin?" Then why the hell would he be helping homeless low income families in Stanislaus county! You want to say this is dr lucky too? No my name is Whitney Crow a phlebotomy graduate who is loyal to the school and people who gave her a career and start in life. If you guys ask me you are the ignorant ones. I fully recommend Abrams college and I stand behind dr lucky because he is an AWSOME doctor!
is he nice

Do not waste your money here. This is not a college and you will not find a job with the training you get at Abrams.

After reading the comments I wanted to pitch in my opinion. I graduated from Abrams College in 2006 with my massage therapy certificate. I worked part-time at various places for a few years, and have been self employed full time for the past 4 1/2 years as a massage therapist. I have been able to earn enough as a self employed CMT to support my family while my husband has been enrolled in college to finish up his BS degree. I chose Abrams over the other vocational schools in the area because:

1. It's very affordable (I paid for my program up front by saving up tip money I was earning as a waitress at Applebees)
2. It's an accelerated program (get in, get out, get to work!)
3. The schedule worked well for me since I had to work while I was in school.

The program itself has its pros and cons. We actually had a new instructor part way through the program, so that was a little weird to get used to. We were in charge of keeping track of our internship hours, which was no problem. You have to be organized.

My feeling is this: It's what you make of it. I was focused and determined to learn as much as I could. You have to be self motivated. Study above and beyond what they require. If you want to get your 500 hour certificate quickly and are self directed and mature, Abrams serves its purpose. Don't go in expecting anyone to hold your hand through the process. They will teach you the fundamentals. Anything more than that is on you to teach yourself or find a workshop about. Fortunately, Modesto is close to everything, so driving to a class elsewhere isn't too much trouble.

Are there better quality schools for massage out there? Absolutely, BUT they also take longer and cost A LOT more. What you learn in school is just the tip of the iceburg for all careers. You will always be learning more once you're in your field.

So, if you're thinking you want to become a massage therapist and want to get your training quickly, are self motivated to learn beyond what the school gives you, and have the determination to make it work, Abrams is the quick and affordable option to getting your CMT. It worked for me!:)

I am going to start Pharmacy Tech program in May and I've heard a lot of good things about Abrams College. Too bad they don't have a campus in Sacramento, but I am willing to drive to Modesto three times a week to be done by September. I am visiting my family in Modesto and I stopped by their campus to check them out and ask a few questions. Office staff was professional, informative and polite. I am excited to start this program soon:)
I am planning to start the Pharmacy program in Jan 2014. I wanted to know how you like it so far? & if its worth attending. Thank u

I completed the EMT program Feb. 16, 2014. I took my NREMT test Feb. 24 and passed easily. The class was great with excellent teaching staff. Bob and Mike did a great job along with former students that come in to help teach. The class was fun and informative. I graduated feeling very confident. I picked up my certificate 3 days after completion. The school was very well run. As for Dr. Lucky I feel very fortunate to have met him and ben a part of is school. He does a lot of good charity work that also gives students a chance to get some real world experience if they take advantage of it. He is straight forward and professional. I highly recommend this school for serious students with a passion for learning. It is an accelerated program so you need to have passion and drive.
