A couple of idealists attempting to live in the jungle. The locals will cannibalize them and their house.

Doesn't it make you just shake your head reading this?

Feigley-Lee, 33, a sculptor and instructor at Oakland University, grew up in Milford and only visited the city for some major events. She enrolled in a graduate school program at Cranbrook Academy of Art, and lived in Ferndale until she met Lee. He also was a Cranbrook student and now is a photographer and OU instructor.
"Instructors" at a university, so we know they don't live in the real world and all that that implies. I pray their unborn child doesn't suffer for the stance the parents make, both feet planted firmly in midair.

More well thought out government policy at work here.
Detroit Free Press wrote:
“I always prayed for good neighbors,” says attorney Derrick Phillips, 58, who lives in the house next door.
Well, don't we all? And when you decode "good neighbors," what does that mean? Your answer should start with a "wh," end with a "te," have an "i" in the middle, and rhyme with "flee."
Detroit Free Press wrote:
To stave off further blight, Phillips would mow the lawn of vacant houses just to keep up appearances and says that helped the Lees “decide and take a chance on it.”
If just mowing the grass staved off further blight -- which means your prayer for "good neighbors" didn't get answered -- hell, I'd cut the grass at every vacant yard in town to keep out the Section 8.
Detroit Free Press wrote:
While the house now shows the couple’s artistic eye for color, proportion and design, Lee says “it’s been less of trying to fit into artistic visions, and more just trying to make it a house.”
My Section 8 neighbors have an eye for color, proportion and design as well. The tires stacked on one end of the lawn perfectly counterbalance that washer-dryer with a blanket thrown over it on the other.

Really, who wouldn't wish these two luck. But it shouldn't have to be this way in America, that our cities and towns should become petri dishes for a government that infects its laboratory mice -- productive, tax-paying whites -- with the bacterium of blacks in an ugly experiment the results of which we already know.

Next each of you get and carry A gun at all times.Third get A couple of BIG dogs. Always keep your cars in the fenced in back yard. Get bars on the windows. Keep guns hidden in every room and in the baement. NEVER stop at any stop signs or red lights, just slow down make sure it's clear then go. If friends come over make sure they are gone by nightfall and make sure they don't park in he street either. Lastly good luck you'll need it I truely hope your famly will wise up and get the hell out of there before something awful happens

The couple has been there five years already. They poured tons of cash and debt into the building. Apparently, they were able to borrow against it. The building is 3,500 square feet, rivaling mansions in the suburbs. There has been no mention of crime. Some upwardly mobile young people are willing to take a risk on the future to live a dream as opposed to old white folk cramming for their finals and bitter over having no dreams. People like the Lees are the pioneers that offer hope of rebuilding the city. Not all the pioneers were shot or scalped. Some prospered.

I sincerely wish this beautiful couple the best. Same for their child. Detroit possesses such an allure...I love it! Detroit is such a beautiful place. Their house is gorgeous. It has that old world charm. A lot of young people are moving into the Midtown area because of jobs, relative safety, and great incentives. Businesses are trying to build up the city center. I hope they succeed. I would love to see the Detroit my parents and grand parents knew.

Because the car insurance is too high. I tried to move back actually several times. It was just too expensive.

Go right ahead sweetheart. I know my way around "Detoilet." Especially at Brush and John R. Your statement still does not negate what I said earlier. Detroit is a lovely place. You just have to be very careful is all and know where you're at at all times.

Why do you think the car insurance is to high in that zip code K? So how far do you think they are willing to drive to put their daughter in a safe school?

That is just a raciest comment. But if you were smart you would give them more guns and let them wipe their selves out. But from you comment I can tell you lack in intelligence.

I like your GT. I have a 1965 Fastback GT and love it. Bought it when I was 19, I'm fifty now, and still love it. It is currently getting a new SS exhaust system and new rear springs and shocks. Can't wait to go through the gears.
