It will take time to see the results of a decline of murders in Detroit....murders are still going on every day, and some are not even reported. Police Chief James Craig has a LOT of work to do. I think he is determined to give back to Detroiters some semblance of security on the streets. But what about domestic violence? The pediphiles, the crooks that break into your homes? What the crooks who strip abandoned homes and sells them to the crook that buys stripped parts?

I refuse to go to any store or gas station in Detroit because of the massive loitering that is around the businesses in Detroit neighborhoods....I go outside of Detroit like Livonia, Canton, Belleville, and other areas that are far away from Detroit so as not to have to deal with the riffraff.

If only Chief Craig would aggressively address and deal with the issues that cause or enables the problems to linger in the first place MAYBE, just maybe, a fourth of the battle MIGHT be won. However, peoples mind-set and heart condition has to change to really wanting something better. ALL are involved in doing their part in what ever positive form that takes, in contributing to a better Detroit.

Loitering in gas stations and party stores is a prime target for the new chief. He is holding meetings with owners to get their cooperation. There are ways the city can be tough on this issue. There are probably code violations. Of course it's against the law to sell individual cigarettes. The criminals will always squirt out somewhere, but why make it easy for them?
